Hi yesterday i posted a thread about what part i will get when i build my pc(today). And since then i have made some adjustments to the list. So before i go out and buy the parts i wondered if some one want to take a look and give me some feedback. ps i wont change the gpu, case or the motherboard. Thanks in advance. Oh and do you guys have any suggestion for a mouse and keyboard im currently looking at the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid Red Switch. but for the mouse i have no idea what to get. And sorry for any grammar fails.

  • If you're spending that much on a case I'd go with Antec or Cooler Master. This is mine.

  • Just FYI, a 2GB graphics card is pretty much redundant unless you're running a ridiculous resolution. 1GB is plenty to process 1080p.

    • OP, if you went with the ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard, you can get this build. If you went with the Asrock Extreme4 Z77, you could get this build. As you can see, both builds are more powerful than your's, and they're both cheaper. The motherboard does not affect gaming performance AT ALL! If you're going to be overclocking...and I mean like, extreme overclocking, which you're not, since you're using that stock cooler, then ya sure, get the Sabertooth, but ince you're not, just get the Asrock board. It's a fine board.

OP, as nice as the Sabertooth is, you don't need that at all. The only thing that makes that motherboard special is the thermal armor, which doesn't contribute all that much to cooling down your system. I recommend the ASUS P8Z77-V. EDIT: Also, if you went with the P8Z77-V, you would have more money to spend on a better graphics card. Or if you spent even less on the motherboard. Personally, I own the Asrock Extreme4 Z77. I love this board, and I've had absolutely 0 problems with it. So OP, if you went with this Asrock board, you would have a significant more amount of money to spend on a better graphics card.

    • There is no need for that motherboard. Get a cheaper one like the extreme 4 then put the money to a better graphics card. Also that case has horrible airflow. I see only one intake fan slot.

Honestly I feel like you're paying too much for a case, I have one with a full window and lights for a fraction of what you're paying The PSU I got was $70 and it's a 700w unit with blue LED's, so maybe you can find something like that, mine's also bronze PLUS certified I personally have a 500GB HDD, and I haven't even filled up 300GB, and my build will be a year old in June, you did good getting a 1TB that spins at 7.2k RPM but I doubt you will use half of that within a year, unless you seriously game and have a collection of movies or something Overall not too bad, but you could probably get a cheaper build, mine's about as powerful as yours, and it only cost me around $650

    • This is very similar to the Mini-ITX build I may be doing for a friend, which came out at $880, OS not included. It's packed into a Bitfenix Prodigy case, so it'll look pretty damn sexy. Then I added a 200mm fan with red LEDs, so the it'll look even sexier. Bloop Regardless, I'd upgrade the 660 to a 660ti. There's a pretty significant performance increase.

You don't need a saber tooth mobo, go with an extreme4 mobo. Upgrade to a 670. Mouse: Mionix Naos 8200 or any other Mionix mouse, they are amazing Keyboard: I use the G510 but it's rather expensive (I got it for $65)

    • Alright. Hopefully some of this helps out. I recently finished my build on Christmas, and I am upgrading my GPU very soon as well. Your RAM seems a little expensive for just 2 sticks of 4 GB. You could easily get that for about $40. It is compatible with your motherboard though, so it isn't a needed switch. For the mouse you could go with just about any, but me and my friend have been looking at this. I don't know if you will be able to find that one in stores though, but it seems to be very good at a fantastic price. Cooling wise for your CPU. You don't need any, it comes with a stock fan. Although if you want to over clock then I recommend this. Pretty good price and with those kind of reviews it really can't be bad. Your power supply will work perfectly fine for you...now. If you want to upgrade later such as doubling your graphics card you will need to also buy a new power supply. You can use this to see how much power you need to run your build. With your build I hit about 450 watts, but with 2 gpus I went over 620 watts. This is just a warning to save you money if the long run, but even if you want to upgrade later you can just get a completely new gpu and either sell your old one or just toss it. I know you aren't changing it, but I prefer EVGA. Their customer service is fantastic, and if you get a DOA it will help you out. Plus their is no downside to switching really. If you need a monitor then just make sure you get the resolution you want, and get the time on it to be 5ms or lower. This will prevent ghosting. Hope your build goes well, and remember to use a shock guard when building. You really don't wanna burn out a piece before you get to use it. Especially in the winter this is a must.
