US vetoes UN vote for condemnation over Syrian bombing

Sorry in advance for finding a Russian-based article, but basically the US used its power as a G5 nation in the United Nations Security Council to strike down a vote to condemn a suicide bombing against the Syrian government (that also happened to hit the Russian embassy and a school). The criticism was that the ultra-conservative Obama administration used double standards against the Syrian government instead of unconditional condemnation of all terrorist attacks. I also would like to say that relations between the US and Russia are rapidly deteriorating.

  • This really doesn't alter our relationship with Russia at all, if you are implying we are close to war than you are very wrong. Not voting on a terrorist attack or w/e doesn't implicate an international crisis with Russia even if it involves its citizens. Especially since Russia began evacuating there citizens from Syria a few weeks ago. That is not our responsibility.
