i for one could never understand why female warriors in games are often fighting half naked. that defeats the purpose of protecting oneself in battle although female characters are supposed to be portrayed as being sexy, or are they

 • They're portrayed as sexy because the target audience is the straight male.

 • quite true, it makes the sales figures soar. but that always isn't a good thing.

 • I can't say it does. If I'm at my local Game (that's Gamestop to you yanks) I don't think I'd be willing to pick up and buy a game that's got a half naked chick plastered on it. It's just a cheap marketing technique and probably hurts sales rather than helps them. Unless it's a digital download, because then no one sees that you're buying a game that has a huge pair of double Ds on the front, so you don't give a -blam!-.

 •
It's just a cheap marketing technique and probably hurts sales rather than helps them.
that actually works fairly well here in the US. although in the end it does end up being personal preference. i've seen enough boobage in my lifetime to where it's not a selling point for me.
