Boobs in Destiny (Breast Thread Ever)

There's a certain type of response that I'm expecting for this thread (immature and full of boob jokes), and then there's a certain kind of response I'm looking for (responsible conversation). I'm not telling either of you types of posters to leave. It's okay.
I would like to talk about breasts. Specifically, armored breasts. I don't want Destiny to go down a dark path of poor anatomy.
Allow me to say that the more unbalanced the ratio of female to male artists there are on a project, the higher the likelihood of us seeing game armor like [url=http://pds22.egloos.com/pmf/201101/18/68/e0072368_4d34afdf54228.jpg]this[/url]. It's annoying enough to have two melons on your chest, but when they're held up by gravity-defying pieces or metal, that's painful. Bras filled with cushioning and breathable material can still be painful. Imagine chicken wire holding up your moobs.
But that's an over-the-top fantasy MMO, not a space opera. So let's pick a space opera. Do sports bras not exist there? Can we top that off with the idea of a blunt object going towards someone's chest? You know, the bone right in front of a shit ton of vital organs.
So what's the solution for this problem?
1. Cut a hole in the box.
2. Make sure your artists/modelers are well versed in proper female anatomy.

4. Take the awesome male armor you had before and put a woman in it. Don't get me wrong! People come in all shapes and sizes. Breastplates will sometimes need to be a bit bigger for some people and some people will need slimmer sets of power armor. Sometimes people wear form-fitting armor, but that still doesn't excuse outlining the breasts on the armor. Nah, I'm pretty sure the best armor for a female warrior is obviously two leather straps and a chastity belt. :)

I agree that if woman are in a combat situation they shouldn't be wearing lingerie. Especially since i don't see pixels as "hot", so i could really care less if they are covered up.

I'm more upset that in this day and age, women characters wear clothing at all. I blame the ESRB.

Why are you posting on here? Bungie has never given female characters revealing armor before, why would they now? Irrelevant post is irrelevant.

I'm not saying armor should be exclusively sexual, but if someone wants to be unrealistically desirable, then so be it. I think what is more upsetting is the lack of male-equivalent sexual armor.

Because one is aesthetically pleasing, the other is practical. You can't have both, and since movies/games are something for the eyes and a form of visual entertainment, the aesthetic part trumps practicallity.

Doesn't faze me either way, though it certainly isn't necessary. The ratio of males and females who play video games isn't that huge of a gap any-more and it'd be nice to see developers recognise this and not plaster tits everywhere until someone buys their game. On the alternative view though, males are portrayed as beefed up, steroid injecting, heartless bastards and the armour generally reflects that. So I suppose both genders get exaggerated in video games somewhat.

I agree 100%, i mean i like boobs and sexy girls, but girls in scantily clad armor on the battlefield, its just a huge turn off in more ways than one. Also the respect for the game drops. Especially in games that take place in the future... ESPECIALLY those games.

I think it would be simply better if we didn't have armor and everyone went around sloppy-looking and naked.

I kind of agree. Wonder though their view on it. Though do want to see different character design for females but not that huge of a distortion, that the girls become eye candy.

Okay, so I'm still laughing over ghost boobs. But really... I think we're starting to see an end to unrealistic female armor in every single game ever. Yes, the number of current games with realistic female shapes is still very small, but it's growing, and some of the titles are coming out with some pretty hefty backing. Personally, I thought Kat in Reach was spectacular, a great example of a soldier, not a female in uniform. I have the same faith in Bungie using a wide range of models during their mocap sessions for Destiny, and I don't think they'll throw us over to Boris Vallejo style femme-armor any day soon. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy classic comic book art and sci-fantasy art in its own way, and I'll admit to having a good number of Vallejo and Olivia de Beradinis prints floating around. However, I really applaud the few forward thinking developers and publishers who are moving away from that trend, and towards something a bit more viable in real world physics.

It doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Actually, it doesn't seem like any type of deal to me. Regardless, I wouldn't worry. Look at the Reach Spartans. You can't seperate the genders just by the chest.
