Why do so many non-Americans get offended by American...
...opinions of our own country?
Why do you care? You don't see Americans asking why the French think they have the best wine?

America at the center of the world can't have the cake and eat it too! Want to have a large control over world politics? Go ahead. Want to do so without criticism or foreign opinions? You're dreaming. Also, political events in the USA heavily influence other countries, so it is in someone's interest to follow them.

I don't think it's so much about the opinions they have of themselves, but moreso opinions they have of other countries, and the fact they "tend to think" their country is superior to the rest. However there are people from every country who think the same way, I guess it's just more common with Americans? I honestly try not to be so judgmental.

I now read All statements made by Americans with Alan Jackson playing in the background and a bald eagle shedding a single tear in my mind. The USA is the greatest country in the world and has no obvious flaws. The 10% of the population that is unemployed in the country is obviously just not working hard enough, the 15% of the population living below the poverty line just need to get more jobs and stop whinging guys! The fact is that you can't self proclaim that you're the greatest nation in the world when you have such glaring social, medical and financial problems. It's the guy with a small penis driving a massive car to try and prove to himself that it doesn't matter on a national scale
