Discuss injuries you've sustained.

I broke my left arm after falling off of monkey-bars when I was like 9ish. Cracked my funny bone right near the elbow, so I had to wear a cast for about 6 weeks. Fucking everyone at primary school wanted to sign my cast for some reason. Scored 2 TDs playing football while wearing it (the only 2 TDs I remember scoring, go figure). Also fell off the edge of a small pillar at a shopping center and bruised my knee to the point where I had to use crutches when I was maybe 10-11. If it counts as an "injury" I had to get surgery for appendicitis at one point and had trouble walking for a week coz it fucking hurt.

  • I jumped out a window because I told my friend it was probably possible to do without hurting yourself. I had to have surgery to put a metal plate in my foot.

  • Emergency Room Trips: Age 3 or 4: Fell down the stairs head first at my grandparents' house. Pretty roughly. Age 5 or 6: I got the button from the jean jacket of this girl in my preschool stuck in my cheek. I'm still fuzzy on how it happened, but I have a scar in the shape of a button if you look at it from the side. Several stitches. Age 5 or 6: Y'know those cubbie things that have like tall rectangular compartments with hooks at the top to hang your little-kid-backpack? Well, those were near the lunch tables and I was leaning back on two legs on my chair (being a badass) and I leaned back too far and the hook basically went into the back of my head. Which sucked. Like 15 stitches, IIRC. Fifth Grade (I was clean for quite a few years): I was on this jungle-gym-type-thing that had this bar going down at a 45 degree angle. It looked like this. I used to think it was pretty cool to slide down this thing. And it was. I did so, most of the time, backwards, like this. One time, I thought I would be super-duper-ultra-cool and ride it going forwards. Little did I know this put all of my weight forward and unbalanced me. I got 3/4 of the way, was going to fast, tried to stop, flipped down and hit the lower bar with my cheek and hung there for 5 minutes until someone helped me down. I had severe nerve damage on my cheek and it was really close to my left eye. It's almost certain that this is why my left eye's vision is several times worse than my right. The incident looked a little like this. Between Fifth and Sixth Grade: At a baseball camp, we were practicing bunting on a pitching machine, which was pitching the ball at around 75 miles an hour (lol let's challenge them). As anyone who places baseball knows, when you bunt you make sure your fingers aren't on the front side of the bat. I was not ready for the ball to come so fast so when I turned to bunt I did so very quickly and didn't have time to move my fingers. My right ring finger was smashed in between the bat and the ball, my fingernail was shoved about a centimeter down my finger (which is pretty significant) and it was bleeding underneath it so they had to let the pressure out with what basically amounts to a super hot paper clip on the end of a pen to make a hole and release the pressure. My finger was broken for a few months. Sixth Grade: I was playing soccer, sprinting as fast as I could trying to outrun two defenders who had hit puberty much quicker than I did and thus were much taller than me. I ended up getting sandwiched between them, getting tripped, falling headfirst, and bouncing my head off the ground. I was out cold for a few hours, was concussed, and woke up in the hospital.

  • Got bit by a coral snake when i was seven, my whole leg turned black and i was told they had to amputate but they were able to save it. Still, I was wheelchair bound for several months, luckily i got to watch old spongebob and dexters lab 24/7 so i didn't mind too much.

    • Today I was messing with a glass cylinder(I don't know why) and it fell and broke. Sliced my right hand up good after a shard bounced back up. Glad it didn't hit my wrist, otherwise I would've been -blam!-ed.

    • I fell on my neck from a big fall, and got a concussion. Luckily, I didn't break my neck. I've never had a broken bone in my whole life, and I'm 21. :D

    • Not exactly an injury, but back in grade school just before an assembly I started to feel really sick to my stomach. It got worse throughout the day and i went to the nurse and had it checked out. My abdomen was swollen and I couldn't urinate, so I had to be flown to a hospital by helicopter to have my bladder checked. Pretty scary stuff at that age.

Broke my last metatarsal on my right hand from punching a door wrong. It's called a Boxer's Fracture. Protip: Don't turn your punches into your target. You want your first two knuckles to line up with the bones in your arm when the punch lands. Thankfully I still had full control of my first two fingers and thumb so I could still write. Why did I punch a door? Well it was in anger and it was better than punching the girl in the face in the middle of class.

      • While cutting bread I sliced my left palm open. Left a nice big scar. My horse also broke a few of my toes, but I never had it checked out because it happened the day that Deathly Hallows Part 1 premiered, and I sure as hell wasn't going to miss that.

      • I hate the whole signing the cast thing. I know some people like it but I was always in the school where everybody just had to sign it. The girls' friends would always go around bugging people to sign it. This kid nobody ever talked to suddenly became popular when he broke his arm.

        • I got brain damage from a car crash. It doesn't seem to have effected me much but the doctors have kept me on meds sense so I really wouldn't know. Driving while stoned is bad kiddies. No, not even to taco bell, just order pizza.

        • I twisted my leg terribly when I was two years old. It was so bad that my parents were investigated for child abuse. Thankfully, they determined that my parents were fine and my leg recovered after several months. I then broke my elbow when I was five years old by falling off my top bunkbed. At 17, my lung spontaneously collapsed while relaxing. It collapsed a second time two months later, which required surgery to fix. Fun times.

          • -Split my skull open by flipping one of those fisher price outdoor rocking horses on a side walk when I was 4. still have a bald spot on the back of my head. -tripped over a basketball on the driveway when I was 5 and tore my face up. Next day was school picture day. people were all like "daaaaang wtf happened?" -Twisted my ankle in 3rd grade, not sure how. -cut my calf wide open by tripping over a roll of barbed wire in 5th grade. still have a 4 inch scar running down my leg. -accidentally sliced my knuckle open in 9th grade during a fire drill. Was looking to the side while walking and when I turned forward my hand hit one of the parking signs, cutting the knuckle open, causing bleeding for well over an hour. ended up missing a Geometry test. -Also, doesn't count as an injury, but during senior year, I had to get a marrow sample done, and it felt like someone had drilled me a new ass hole. had a limp for a week. had trouble sitting for a month.

I've never broken a single bone I've twisted both ankles though when I was kicked down cement stairs Dislocated my right shoulder when doing dumbbell shoulder presses, cause some douche bumped me when the dumbbell was pushed all the way up. So my arm rotated backwards and popped out of place, yeah that hurt like hell. And I've got a nail shot into my hand when some jerk was waiving around a nail gun at my school.

several really icky cuts, scratches, bruises, and scrapes, but nothing torn or broken. The worst one I could see ligaments or tendons or something, but it didn't really hurt. Besides that, I was bedridden for a few weeks due to back issues a while ago. Ended up being really bad muscle cramps.
