[quote]NOTE: You don't have complete control over this. I just edit the script to your liking.[/quote]There may be a way to get the script to work without having to rely on you to update it, and everyone else to keep their copy up-to-date.
Mottos ("About Me" field) on profiles are truncated with an ellipsis when displayed. I don't know for sure if they're truncated when viewed elsewhere or on mobile, but [i]if they are[/i], then you can have people embed their desired titles within their mottos. Then, for each user in a thread being viewed, your userscript can fetch their motto (using any available AJAX APIs that the site provides, or by just fetching their entire profile page), look for a delimiter of your choosing, and apply anything past/inside that as the title.
I'd recommend asking people to use a BBCode-like delimiter to separate the custom text from the rest of the motto, as that's something that most people here should be familiar with. So here's a hypothetical motto that someone could use, that your script could parse:
[quote]My usual motto text my usual motto text my usual motto text my usual motto text
Are we past the truncation point? Okay.
[customtitle=#123456]Bungie.net Underlord[/customtitle]
This is additional text outside the delimiters, that the userscript should ignore.[/quote]
Using the system I have described, your userscript could grab that motto, parse it, and display a custom title of "Bungie.net Underlord" with a hex color of #123456.

This guy sounds like he knows his shit And this seems quite easy to use, if this would work, it would be awesome sauce. And custom avatar script running on this method would also be great.
