The thing is that hash tags can be easily abused. People can add as many hash tags to their thread as they want just so that it will get a lot of attention. For example, you have six hash tags applied to this thread. This is a mild example, too, since the only "official" ones you used are #feedback and #Flood. However, I have seen some labeled with #feedback, #Community, #Bungie and #Flood. Those threads span several of the old communities, some of which they do not belong in. There is nothing to stop these people from adding whatever hash tags they want and as many as they want to their threads either. And if the ninjas can warn/ban a person for misusing hash tags, which I assume will be the case, I can only see that as being harder for them to moderate than having set forums for conversations to take place in. I think having several set forums is the best option. However, I would think that implementing the hash tags into the old forum setup as sort of a subtopic search would be an interesting thing to try. I also wish to address something that ABotelho mentioned in this thread, as well. Having comments listed in the order of priority instead of chronological order makes no sense to me. This just breaks up any conversation that could be had since comments that aren't considered "high priority" will be pushed to the bottom of the thread. Yes, you can reply to specific comments now. However, that just makes the conversations more separate. Instead of everyone communicating with each other, you have some smaller conversations that don't tie in to each other. Also, you have to look for these conversations to find them. You won't be able to just stumble across them and watch how they play out as you scroll down the page.

 • I think you fail to realize that this whole thing isn't set in stone. The solution would be to bring back the fileshare tagging system (well, in spirit). People can up/downvote hashtags. I used some silly hashtags that nobody's ever going to look up and not spamming ALL of the official tags wouldn't really count as abuse of the system. Like, I'm not allowed to use official tags now? You're not making sense, especially since my tags were relevant (omit the silly ones that are for fun). And I LIKE that. I can make a subtle shoutout to a group or a friend and it doesn't screw with everybody else.

 • Also, I was adding a third paragraph to my post when you replied to it. I would like to hear what you think on the subject I added.

 • I agree about the comments (did I ever say this was flawless?), as I don't like digging through every post and its replies. Having new replies on top is fine, but everything feels jumbled now. I think they were going for how halo.bungie.org does forums, but I don't think it worked out for the best in this round.

 • Yes. It may be just me, but I do prefer comments in some type of chronological order. Newest on top is fine, as long as the previous post is right underneath it and the previous post underneath that. That is just my opinion, though. I just don't like comments ordered by priority. It makes it far to easy for comments to be ignored and never seen.

 • If you notice, I said this thread was a mild example. I was not accusing you of abusing the hash tag system. I was merely pointing out that this thread had more than a few hash tags to label it. If my post came off as an accusation, I apologize. My point was that this system is very easy to abuse. You could make a thread about dragons (for example) and give it #dragons and #Offtopic. This would make sense. However, what is to stop people from also adding #Septagon, #Bungie, #Gaming, etc. There is nothing stopping them from adding as many unrelated hash tags as they want to get the most attention possible. I'm sure the ninjas will be given jurisdiction to met out punishment to those who abuse this system, but I get the feeling that it will be a lot harder to do so than in the old forum setup. As for the whole "set in stone" thing. Yes, I realize this. That is the point of a beta. However, unless we point out what we see as fault or mistakes in the site, then these changes cannot be made. It is our duty as beta testers to do so. I am just making my opinions clear.
