Group founders have changed

I noticed a few groups I'm part of have changed the founding member. http://www.bungie.net/en-us/View/community/Groups/Detail?groupId=13461 Changed from me to Coxx153

  • Two things about this: 1. In the old site, "Founder" wasn't anything special, just a record of the guy who created the group. He didn't have to be an admin, though. In the new site, "Founder" is a security level - an admin that can additionally make new admins and also can't be kicked out of the group. 2. Existing groups imported into the "Founder" role the oldest-joined member who also was in the system's full control role. There were a few fallback options, too. But the point is that the guy you saw listed as "The Founder" in the old group system's homepage wasn't checked, because it was just stored as a string, not an actual reference to a user, nor did that user necessarily have any powers in the group anymore. Indeed, he might have been deleted. If you still think there is a problem with your group, please let us know, we still have the old data. But I'm reasonably certain the imports mentioned here are correct.

I have noticed a similar issue. I created a group over the summer, after the update I am still listed as the founder of that group. However when I go to My Groups, under "Groups I've Founded" it says:
You haven't started any groups. Click "Start New Group" to build your own clubhouse.
The group I founded is then listed under the "Groups I've Joined" header. Not a big issue, but might have something to do with what other people are noticing with group founders.

    • Yeah, this is happening with a lot of groups. I'm sure this will be fixed after the beta.

    • I second this. http://www.bungie.net/en-US/View/community/Groups/Detail?groupId=2302 OTK's founder is XIX Goodeye XIX, not THE VINMAN 1224. Vinman is one of our two admins (myself being the active one) but neither of us made the group.

      • Yeah I noticed this too, my group is now founded by someone else. That kind of aggravating...
