i'm on console and it gets old getting entire teams of peeps obviously using mice and movement tech macros
they need to go into lobbies against their own
i do ok against regular teams but then it punishes me by putting me into matches against mouse/macro cheaters and i go from somewhere in the top 3 to dead last
it just steamrolls typically, as the peeps using mice/macros are also maintaining buffs on overshields and huge dmg boosts
feel like matchmaking could be improved significantly, the bungie devs previously called out movement tech as a strong indicator for separation in matchmaking

Edited by intraket: 10/1/2026 1:26:19 PMIt’s really not what’s happening albeit it might rarely happen…..you’re just matching better players. A good player with high sens on a controller can easily seem like a skilled mnk user. It’s just a skill gap in movement I know you may not wanna hear that but movement IS and ALWAYS was its own skill gap in destiny. This is why good players use 140 HCs and excel with them. It allows for high tech movement and responsive/reactive game play that’s hard to beat when you’re good with it. Hence, everyone cries about HCs but it’s just a matter of fighting anyone who’s good or better is out maneuvering you but the guns blamed. Really its movement

As someone who plays a lot of crucible despite struggling to maintain even a 1.0(my patience always gets overwhelmed by boredom-, yea it is a skill issue), I can tell you that is just how it goes. Someone doesn't have to be mnk/macro to be good. Most sweats, regardless of skill, are going to perform better than many just because the optimize every aspect for PvP. People that peek shoot can perform better because they utilize strategy. Then you just have the really good poeple, some of them them are just naturally skilled. Crucible can be really unforgiving sometimes, but you learn and adjust. If you're getting steamrolled, pull back and peek shoot or back-of-the-map scout camp. Very boring tactics, I know, but they work. If you are not having fun, one thing that I learned is to step back, refesh, and try again later.

The games are really random. One game you do greate and next game you do bad. Comp is beyond human understanding and so unforgiving that I just cant get it. You loose way too many points for loosing.

3 RepliesMy biggest problem is needing an entire 18 hr youtube guide to figure out what abilities, skills, guns, how to get them, then grind another 20 hours just to get a good roll, i havent played in forever really but this is my fear. People who are new or returning are effectively locked out of fun unless they wanna suffer or grind endlessly for 1-2 items.

It’s fun

3 RepliesIt’s not cheating. I play everyday. I see a lot of returning players now. The good players are back in droves.
