Destiny Legacy — A long-term preservation solution for Destiny

Bungie has an opportunity to preserve Destiny's history without putting all of the old content back into the modern Destiny 2 client. I would like to suggest a separate Destiny Legacy platform, inspired by the idea behind WoW Classic. 1. Destiny 1 on PC Bring the original Destiny to PC officially, including its released expansions: - The Dark Below - House of Wolves - The Taken King - Rise of Iron Keep the original gameplay and identity of Destiny 1, while adding the PC features players expect today. 2. Destiny 2 Legacy Create a separate Legacy version of Destiny 2 containing historically important content that was removed from the live game: - Red War - Curse of Osiris - Warmind - Forsaken - vaulted destinations - vaulted raids - older seasonal content where practical The important part is that this would be a separate client, rather than permanently adding everything back into the modern Destiny 2 installation. 3. Modern Destiny 2 stays modern The current version of Destiny 2 would continue evolving normally. Legacy would preserve specific historical versions of Destiny rather than constantly changing them to match the modern sandbox. 4. Respect previous purchases Players who previously purchased vaulted Destiny content should receive access to the corresponding Legacy content through their existing licenses where technically possible. Players who never owned the old content could purchase a Legacy package or another access option. 5. One Destiny ecosystem Ideally, modern Destiny and Destiny Legacy could exist under the same Destiny ecosystem/account. Modern Destiny = current game Destiny Legacy = preserved history This would give new players a way to experience Destiny's history while allowing veteran players to return to the versions they remember. Why? Destiny has accumulated more than a decade of history, characters, locations, campaigns, raids, music and gameplay systems. That history is part of what makes Destiny special. A separate Legacy platform could preserve that history without requiring the modern game to carry everything at once. Destiny 1 on PC + Destiny 2 Legacy + Modern Destiny 2 could give Bungie a way to preserve the franchise's history while continuing to move forward. Would Bungie consider something like this as a long-term preservation solution for Destiny?
