The Health Stat...

Right off the rip, I realize that these forums are about as useful as screaming in the cold dead void of space. There's just no where else to really vent the frustrations of how this game was left in the state that it's in. As a predominantly PVE player, the health stat is a genuine waste of stat points, since any reasonable build should work around a mechanic of some sort to pop your health right back when you need it most. While it's sometimes a meme in the Destiny community... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHY DOES EVERY ARMOR IN THE GAME DROP WITH A HEALTH STAT BUMP! It's 9/10 times! I get it, it'll never be changed, the devs are gone, the game is just there to enjoy so long as the servers are up... but FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AGES, there's a reason to farm armor again, and it just stings every single time I get a stupid worthless health stat bump rather than a good roll. **Sigh** Thanks for listening if you did. To the devs that will likely never read this... I'm sorry that the corpos -blam!- it all up. I know you tried to fix it all before the end - and you DID FIX A LOT - so thanks for that. May RNG shine upon you all... far better than it's shinning on me right now. GGs!

  • Health is the new resilience stat . It was useless back then and it is useless now and yet they play pvp with 200 health stat but it takes the same amount of bullets to kill someone with 10 health or someone with 200 health . Meanwhile their grenade , melee and super takes such a long time to recharge cause they wasted it all on health and class stat wich is also useless btw ...

    • I don’t care what everyone else says, I keep getting focused and void breaches/orbs of light just don’t cut it with lower health. I’m gonna have to keep at least 80 in the health stat on my Titan.

      • So here's the thing- I've been talking about Armor algorithm's ever since TWQ. My old clanmates told me I was crazy. If weightgate was real with weapons, you best believe there's an armor algorithm too. But I have a system for finessing Armor. A system I'm having to abandon because my Vault space is TIGHT. Save every piece you get. Store it in your vault or inventory. The algorithm cannot predict what you will keep or dismantle at that point and you'll get better drops. IF you begin dismantling every piece of Health armor you have, it'll just keep dropping. It's simple and highly effective. Did this through Renegades after returning to the game from a 6 month hiatus. Quickly got my Ferropotent sets in place at the time. Did that for the start of monuments too. Now my Vault is too tight and I need to dismantle anything not worth keeping. As I've done this, I just keep getting Health bumps and Health Masterworks. It's insane how many I got this weekend while farming Armor. Every other piece was Colossus or Siegebreaker. Even with my ghost mod attuned, it was never ending. So in short, keep everything until the build is complete, then dismantle. Good luck Guardian!

        • As a PVP player, I can confirm I have the opposite problem. Too many Armors don't roll with high Health

Having a little bit of a health stat is always “healthy” given it’s a passive, reliable source of instant health, especially paired with powerful attraction. It also frees up a mod slot since you are no longer incentivized into using Recuperation. But this is only applicable to builds that don’t already have a form of consistent health regen. Strand for example, arguably benefits the most in PvE from the Health Stat, though Arc is a runner up (Curative Orbs on the Slayer Barons Artifact can oft replace any need for the Health Stat on Arc Warlock and Titan given their ability to produce Ionic Traces en mass. Not including any healing bolt-charge artifact mods) Healths primary usage is best seen in PvP, and is the most noticeable on Keyboard and Mouse as it significantly reduces flinch. Like significantly so. It, paired with the slight Health Bump that lets you either survive longer, or having a harder to achieve optimal TTK (replacing a body shot with a crit to achieve optimal TTK for example) means it’s well worth investing into. Especially because the ability stats are not worth investing more than 100 into at a given time. Weapons though, is well worth the consideration of over 100 stat points, but that’s because weapon stat also significantly affects Optimal TTKs. Arguably more so than Health. Health isn’t a worthless stat like Mobility was. There is reason to use it, even if it’s exclusive to PvP, and I think that’s fine. Having it so PvP is determined more so by two singular stats than all 6 is actually healthy since it makes balancing PvP easier. It also gives people some mode of self expression. Do you want an easier time killing other players or have a harder time being killed. Both benefit your ability to duel pretty evenly since killing another player means they can’t then kill you, but both change the way you win that fight. You either have an easier time using your gun, but if you’re skilled enough, the extra damage is going to serve you better. +100 Class stat is really only viable on Hunter. A pocket Overshield for gunfights is valuable, but it requires you sacrifice stat points in other areas, which is no bueno less the build have a sufficient level of power or ability regen (unlikely)

          • So, here's my follow up, just because I'm bored... Grasp of Avarice Dungeon: Ran it 19x - solo - over 3 days. Received 30 pieces of armor in total - 10 of those pieces were non-health stat heavy. I was targeting Reaver armor for class and melee builds - received a total of 12 pieces - but only 6 of them are non-health stat heavy. I did not receive a single pair of leg armor that was not a health stat heavy piece. The only arm piece that I received that was a non-health stat heavy roll still has a health stat tuner. **Sigh** I can make a build I suppose, but my Lord I would love to have more control over what I'm targeting. As I stated earlier, I'm well aware that development on Destiny is over, and I'm find with that. This is just me venting into the wind.

            • It's a known bug, but will likely never be fixed, since they ended support for the game. Bungie has also said that only "emergencies" will be addressed, so don't expect it to ever change.

            • I know it’s ’all RNG’ but I swear the amount of times there is tertiary health or health tuning seems so high. I do wonder if there is a bug. I’d like health to lean more in PvE or alternatively, a ghost mod that simply doesn’t focus any stats but instead fully stops you getting one stat. It would at least give you options to focus.

            • Bad news from Bungie… Marathon's new content has been delayed and Bungie is dropping seasons altogether as its extraction shooter fights for its life. Me - Sounds like D2 last DLC that got cancel.

            • Your ghost shell has a specific armor stat finder. Throw on the powerhouse finder and your rng of weapon super stat armor goes through the roof.

              • It's the whammy stat. Some **** has to suck vs. the field. That's health in PvE.
