PvP feels like some players are playing a second ahead

Something feels seriously wrong with PvP. I keep running into players who seem to react to everything **before it happens on my screen**. I pop a Super and they instantly jump away. I use a shotgun, Consecration, Shoulder Charge, rocket, grenade launcher, etc., and they somehow evade it immediately. It doesn’t feel like normal reaction time or prediction anymore. It feels like **they are seeing my actions before I do**. I understand latency and desync can cause weird interactions, but when someone consistently avoids completely different abilities at the exact moment I use them, it becomes extremely suspicious. Is this a networking/desync issue, or is something else going on? Because right now it genuinely feels like **I’m playing in slow motion while they’re playing one second ahead.**

  • Yep. I went through this yesterday in Iron Banner. My games started off good and then I messed up and put up a 10kda and it went downhill from there. My weapons were firing slower, my opponents seem like they were moving faster. Jade Rabbit was 4 crit to kill or games were 6v5 most matches. Yesterday was horrible. I couldn't win 1s to guys reloading in the open. The game wouldn't let me win. It was a lose or trade

The PvP definitely feels different for me as well. I have occasional teleporting issues with some opponents but exchange of damage can be completely off some matches. I have double melee and shot people and they still one tap me with a melee. There are instances where I die around a corner which I assume is because I was actually dead before I got around the corner. There are times where the gunplay feels right and there are other times where I put several rounds into my opponent only to be on one tapped by them.

  • Yesterday felt generally OK, today I'm a second behind. It's usually a game or two out of 10 that feels like that, but today it was every game, with a few errors thrown in a well. I also can't open my NAT no matter what port forwarding or router settings that I use on my wired connection. Used to be open with the same hardware.
