Can’t switch from old Xbox Character to new Steam character
I recently got back into Destiny 2 and I wanted my old weapons. So I linked my old Xbox account to vault my old guns. When I tried to switch back to my new character account on steam, there isn’t an option to switch. Google said I had to deactivate it to see all my characters. But because I bought silver before switching I can’t switch back?

1 ReplyEdited by BNGHelp10: 8/12/2026 4:09:55 PMHey there, cross-save lets you pick one account as the active account, and that account is the one that is visible on those platforms. The other accounts become dormant and inaccessible. There is no way to merge weapons from an XBox account with characters from a Steam account, you either get access to the contents of the XBox account on both XBox and Steam, or vice-versa. There is no option to switch the active character set once cross-save is set up. The only way is to deactivate cross-save (returning both character sets to their original platforms) and set up it the other way around once the 90-day cooldown period elapses. Unfortunately as was mentioned during setup, there is also a 90-day deactivation cooldown that begins once Silver is purchased on any of the accounts, even if purchased before activation. None of the cooldowns can be reduced nor bypassed.
