Every Guardian knows the specific heartbreak 💔 of the RNG grind when trying to complete a new armor set for their Guardian...
You dive into raids, dungeons, or seasonal activities, fully prepared to battle the odds, only to find yourself trapped in a statistical nightmare...
Inevitably, the game rewards you with a flawless streak of boots, gauntlets, chests, and helmets, leaving you permanently stuck at four out of five pieces...
The final piece—whether it is that elusive class item or a specific helmet—becomes a mythical treasure, replaced instead by endless duplicates of the gear you already own...
This cruel loop transforms an exciting pursuit into a test of patience, proving that the toughest boss in Destiny 2 is always the loot table...
RNG can be vicious, but nevertheless, our grind continues Guardians...
If any, what piece of armor are you grinding for?

1 ReplyClass items in certain dungeons are tied to the dungeon quest line, and are only available from one chest. In Vespers Host you can only aquire the class item from the secret chest inside the room with the trip wire bombs. That chest has a 4 digit code input that can be adjusted with the operator buff. Make sure to use the class item code of 42. You may need to complete the quest line with the collectibles to access this. In Sundered Doctrine you must become a full initiate and open the final door after the boss fight to gain access to the class item. You'll need to complete the quest line that has you collecting the worms and using the code wall to input symbols at the beginning of the dungeon. Like the Vespers Host dungeon you can use the code wall to focus a specific item but the chest behind the final door is the only one that gives the class item. I suggest looking up a walk-through. The other dungeons and raids have more forgiving loot tables but these two will never drop a class item from an encounter. Something I've run across myself while searching for armor sets.

1 ReplyI farmed out a Comp set with a weapons build, because I wanted to try out a high weapon stat build with my Randy's Throwing Knife. I got all of the pieces I wanted, but I haven't set them up yet. I just started on FFVII Remake, and I got into it and haven't played Destiny for a week or so.

3 RepliesCould not have said it better!! Problem is that I gave up the grind. It was never worth it. IF and it is a big IF I got that elusive piece, it was time for a new season and a whole new armor set. The "everything changes every season" model was not sustainable, not combined with the other garbage ideas they kept pushing. It pushed average and below players away form the game. Player numbers fell, which is a fact. Bungie held the course and by the time they made positive changes it was too late. So I like many are no longer grinding, spending money in the store or wasting time in a game that became significantly less fun to play,. Happy grinding to you. Wish you the best. But I will not be grinding anything any more.

2 RepliesAnd that's the best way they found to keep players engaged.

1 ReplyThe new Iron Banner set. It's an absolute mess of pieces I need for my Ursa build. My current Ursa build (from Renegades) was 4 pieces of Ferropotent with 5 hundreds. Gonna be hard to get back there considering how perfect each piece was in terms of MW, Tertiary stats and so forth. BUT we do have until the servers go down.

1 ReplyI find it way less frustrating than it used to be. With triple perks and also focusing it's way easier to get specific things we want. Back in the day with single perks it was brutal.
