Implementing a permanent filter with the exception of slurs is a top 10 worst nuisances I have ever seen encouraged in any scenario that has nothing to do with keeping little innocent timmy happy in the no cursing classroom. And as if it wasn't enough to piss off anyone trying to use common language in a game that already targets an age rating where bad language is irrelevant to anyone who isn't a sensitive pansy, the filter has gotten so bad that I can't even use random words like "diabolical" or "about" just to name a few in the sea of absolute nonsense.
I literally have trouble typing out regular sentences that don't even hint at a curse word and it's unbearable when a filter should only be optional for the weak minded people that can't handle letters on a screen. The filter should have always been purely optional. If you're not grown enough to be able to turn on a filter for yourself and then you complain about seeing bad words, you got bigger fish to fry. Censorship SUCKS and you don't hate it enough.
If the state of the team is so bad we can only disable and remove, it would be nice to add the filter to the list of things to obliterate.

sure censorship is bad, like super villain levels of bad.. but D2's censorship is specially bad, which is not surprising considering how janky this game can be from beginning to end. swearing is hella fun and cool, but D2's censorship is even stopping me from talking normally to ppl.. and that's not good, I'd gladly pay to have the filter permanently disabled. ~~~//~~~ I also find it quite funny when we decide to talk about "bad words filtering" on any games and someone will reply saying that we just want the freedom to say bad words and all... which isn't exactly wrong, but it's more complex than that..sure we might seem like brain dead monkeys who love swearing, but u gotta at least admit that swearing adds a lot of expression to any sentence.. and it's fun as hell. I'll die on this hill.

Edited by Zodleon: 8/11/2026 8:27:20 PMI had a guy haremail me, and it censored him saying *something, like literally the word something. And I said *about and that got censored and their censor tech has been high on something for like 2 years now.

1 ReplyIs this gonna be the new thing to post about every week? There have already been multiple posts about this, each one complaining about the same words. Their chat filter can't differentiate between the flagged words being on their own or in the middle of other words so innocuous words will get censored. They don't have any employees to spare to fix their broken chat filter, even so it'd be low priority in favor of things that can actually break the game.
