Verifying Installed Files

Hello, Destiny 2 forcefully shut down in my last game session, since whenever i launch the game, i am greeted with a verifying installation screen in-game, which takes a long and inconsistent amount of time each time, and at the end there's always a recommendation to reinstall Destiny 2, which i did but the problem still remains my pc specs (ryzen 5 9600x, nvidia rtx 5060, ddr5 ram) thanks Rao

  • Hello there, Thanks for the report and for including your specs. This does not sound like normal behavior. The in-game verifying installation loop followed by a reinstall recommendation usually points more toward a content or install-state problem than a performance issue, especially if a full reinstall did not clear it. There has been previous Destiny launch/install trouble where reinstalling alone was not enough and players only got past it after moving the game to a different drive and reinstalling there instead. So if you have already reinstalled on the same drive and the problem still remains, a useful next step would be testing the install on a different drive if one is available. If that is not possible, it would also help to include whether this started immediately after the forced shutdown and whether Windows/Event Viewer shows any disk or application errors around the same time. Thanks again for calling it out.
