To get Xbox characters on Steam Your Xbox/“Xbox PC” characters don’t move to Steam; you tell Bungie.net to use your Xbox save everywhere, then you can play that same save on Steam: Go to the Cross Save page while signed in with your Xbox account: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/CrossSave Make sure your Xbox profile is linked under Settings → Account Linking. Link your Steam account there as well (if it’s the wrong Steam, unlink it, then link the correct one while signed in with Xbox). On the Cross Save setup page, choose your Xbox account as the active save, authenticate both Xbox and Steam, and enable Cross Save. Now launch Destiny 2 on Steam and pick “Sign in with Steam” – your Xbox characters should appear (they’re still stored on Xbox Live, just shared via Cross Save). 2. Fixing “won’t authenticate / can’t deactivate” To enable or disable Cross Save, you must successfully authenticate every linked platform account (Xbox + Steam in your case). If you deactivate Cross Save, there is an unskippable 90-day lockout before you can turn it back on again. No exceptions. If the problem is simple “Authentication Error” loops: Try the official troubleshooting steps: Clear browser cookies/cache. Use a private/incognito window. Try a different browser. Try the official Destiny Companion app instead of a browser. If the problem is that you linked the wrong Steam account or an account you can’t access anymore: Bungie cannot remove or unlink platform accounts for you under any circumstances.
