Hey there,
I've been playing the game since The Dark Below in D1. For most of D1 I played with high school friends, and for most of D2 I played solo, so it was already rough trying to do endgame but this game had some "space magic" that you just couldn't find somewhere else. I realized, if I wanted to, I could back go and play right now (even if there is literally 0 reason to) and still find something to do, just for the love of the game: maybe some PvE a couple of times (though I hate the Portal), maybe some PvP (though it's been abandoned), maybe running a dungeon solo. Maybe, just maybe, support the devs with a little emote purchase because of the game's history.
But after today, after being neglected for comms while the other green PvP game gets comms for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it's hard to justify it all for "we'll talk in June." Why even bother at this point, if they don't bother to respect the players? Is having some integrity and respect so expensive that they can't afford to be straightforward with the few players that still are around? Is it even more expensive than supporting two games at once?
If you are really listening, do better Bungie.

1 ReplyNah man… totally fine with it. There is literally nothing Bungie could say that would satisfy you or the vocal “fans” that have made it your singular pastime to crap on the game or the company. Way too much psycho ex toxicity around the Destiny “community”

Edited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 4/1/2026 2:26:14 PMThey are betting everything on Marathon Destiny 2 is just a "Do I have to ?" chore to them now DMG said wait till June because they have nothing to say about D2 right now, its all Marathon and its 30k daily players(getting closer to D2 every day)

It is just crazy that this is their attitude, you would think they would be trying to build the hype up now. Release and talk about what they are doing even showing us some of the new rolls and perks they are working on, show us the new super fun thing they are putting into Patheon 2. This whole thing of yeah bugger off we will talk to you in June is nuts.

2 RepliesBungie is trying to scurry away. I hope Sony puts a foot down as they try to escape. Marathon hitting new lows on a weekend. For any trying to make excuses, Crimson Desert just set a new high over 260k on a Sunday morning here in the states. If Marathon was a hit, there would be no need for disclaimers. Sony is not pleased - that's guaranteed.

3 Replies"We'll talk to you peasants when there's something to sell." Bungie

Marathon fails....they fail... Look at the numbers Marathon is failing. I am guessing they have transitioned from all hands being used to get Marathon out the door to all hands bring used to bail water out of their new sinking ship.

10 RepliesThis assessment is already from 2024. "Within the company, there is a growing expectation that senior company leadership will leave in droves in the summer of 2026 when the final payouts from Sony's acquisition of the company take effect. With this in mind, there is a strong push to get Marathon out the door before then, and let whoever takes the reins after that (be it Sony or Bungie) worry about how it's sustained." Here's the link: Bungie Replaces Marathon Director Amid Leadership Shakeup, Fears of Layoffs For June, I'm not expecting a miracle anymore... just some even more recycled content and more of Eververse. Plain and simple: all eyes (of Bungie) are on Marathon.

2 RepliesIf DMG actually cared and was doing his job, and just needed a lil time to get things lined up it would be one thing. But with his X page filled with Marathon promo….he doesn’t care and I dont think he ever really has. Failure at this point is the massive slap in the face the arrogance at Bungie needs. The only question is: How hard does it need to hit to wake everyone up, and would it hit too hard for any recovery?

1 ReplyYikes ! Not looking good ! Just a harsh and crappy way to treat the community. Most has probably dipped and the people left ….what are you doing 🤷🏼♂️

4 RepliesAny resurrection of destiny, whether that is a miracle d2 turnaround or a d3, needs to move forward without dmg and tyson green.
-
2 RepliesThey're giving "the other game" another couple of months to see if it can pull out of its death spiral. If it does, we're probably looking at August for Destiny.
-
4 RepliesDestiny 2 probably has a couple of years left. To have that Destiny 1 experience would have to be a fresh new start in Destiny 3. Destiny 2 would be lucky to squeeze in two more of their mini expansions. And maybe, just maybe, work on D3 while stragglers play D1, D2, and Marathon. Lets not forget the dreaded layoffs. And not just Bungie but everywhere. The Gaming Industry is going to be more expensive, there's going to be layoffs, and more restructuring. AI is here (not saying its bad; not saying its the best) and companies want that; they don't want to pay the people. Tio hear in June is too long and that sounds very foreboding. If its positive, they need to at least release some hints. Bungie is really in a bad spot and its now dropping into one of the worse of times in the Gaming World. It would be a miracle to get something.

The most backhanded response they could have said.

1 ReplyEdited by Discovery: 3/29/2026 12:17:26 PMI played Destiny since the day D1 got released. I haven't played in months now. I haven't even finished the Renegades campaign (I think I'm on the next to last mission). While I don't have much time do play, I used to play at least an hour or two at weekends. Destiny got that "space magic" you say, and the shooting, running aspect of the game "feels" good/is well done. But these last years everything have pointed to the inevitable - Destiny is about to meet it's destiny and end. In my view it started with Lighfall when Bungie turned Destiny to a sweat-game. After that they filled the game with unnecessary stuff just to complicate things and make players have to spend more time in the game. They moved from exploration to small pits of actions. The players need to have exact builds and weapons to play, if they haven't the game is unforgiving. That in turn makes casuals leave the game because they have no chance to keep up with the meta changes and have not a chance to have all abilities, the needed armour or weapons. The hardcore gamers feel the lack of content. Bungie not communicating with the Destiny players is a form of communication, it can only mean they've given up on Destiny and they are hanging on the straw that is Marathon. They'll probably release some content this summer (former named Shadow and Order), but my guess it is the end content. Maybe they put a little bit of Shattered Cycle in it, but I think they are focusing on putting in repeatable playable things in the game, to keep the few hardcore players left run in the hamster wheel end content. The forum has gone quieter very quickly, just a month ago there where many more active people here. Many have left the game and they are no longer active here, voicing their opinion. The game have been a part of my life for a long time, it is sad to see it go. Hopefully I find another good game, and you all friends here, too.

1 ReplyWe've seen this level of arrogance and self-importance from Bungle time and again, so I don't know why people are so surprised. When someone tells you who they really are, believe them.
-
5 RepliesIt wouldn't surprise me if bungie is still working on shadow and order, that's why they've not said much about it, they've been working on ? i don't even want to say the name again lol, it's depressing lol.

Nah I be busy seeing supergirl and He-Man or alternatively joining some weird cult worshipping Alice Cooper

Maybe, the Steam Game Cube will launch soon…before June?! 😁 That’s all is all. Ease Springs! 🖖👻 MTFBWY

Is having some integrity and respect so expensive that they can't afford to be straightforward with the few players that still are around?
The irony of this statement is they were straightforward with you & you're crashing out over it.

3 Replies1. You’ve completely missed his point. 2. You haven’t played in over 2 months. Even before then, you barely played. This simple comment of his is 100% not what set you over the edge.
