So I played Destiny 1 & 2 a lot all the way up to last year, where I just lost drive to play. Destiny feels like a 2 hour session commitment to feel like I’m making significant progress, and now I’m in my 30s and working, I just can’t get into Destiny the way I was when I was younger.
With that said, I’ve been itching for a new game that gives that shooter fix and a game session is around 15 minutes with low commitment, and been watching Marathon closely. I bought it today after seeing reviews were good and player count on Steam is healthy (but could dip throughout the month). It’s not at all a Destiny 3 replacement,, I played Highguard which lacked so much, Marathon is not that either. Marathon is a fresh new idea, very niche, but it’s kinda fun and addicting, I actually like it. I’m broke irl but $40 felt like a good pricing and I don’t regret it. It’s surprisingly scary to play, I haven’t felt like this since OSRS RuneScape Wilderness. Arc Raiders is great too, but Marathon is like a Jalapeño Turkey Burger where Arc Raiders is a Double Cheeseburger. Arc Raiders is filling but Marathon just hits different. What are your impressions?

I love it. It's 2 separate games for 40 bucks, imo. I like both games.
