Recently decided to return to Destiny 2 after quitting back at the launch of the Edge of Fate expansion. Didn't quit out of boredom or anything, but because of my system hardware. I am still running a 2014 budget build with an outdated NVIDIA graphics card.
I was managing to get 60FPS before the Edge of Fate expansion with customized settings, but after I was only averaging between 35-50FPS depending on which mode I was playing.
Anyways, after playing for some time earlier today and getting back on within the last hour, I just got the error code "plum" after getting a BattlEye popup saying "Bad Packet" with no further information.
This made me worry, because I checked what the plum error code was for, and it said BattlEye possibly detected a violation in the Terms of Service for Bungie. I've never used cheats and hate people who do, so I immediately closed the game and just now decided to make this post. I don't want to be falsely banned because BattlEye might not recognize outdated drivers or even potentially just having outdated hardware that doesn't even match that of the minimum requirements for Destiny 2.
Should I be worried about a potential ban for cheating? I'm genuinely concerned because I know there's been lots of recent controversy with moderation, and I don't want to lose my account or all of the money I spent.
Either way, I've decided not to play Destiny 2 again until I can upgrade my gaming rig, although I doubt that'll be anytime soon.
TL;DR - I'm still using a graphics card from 2014, got an error code for cheating, but don't use cheats and got worried. I'm under the impression my outdated hardware is what resulted in the error with BattlEye which resulted in the error code. Is my account safe from being banned?

1 Reply"Bad packet" is usually due to some blip in the Internet connection; do you use WiFi? Is your Firewall set to 100% allow Destiny 2 and BattlEye through?
