I have this quest to get kills with a volatile weapon mod and I can't find any in game or any weapon that works.
I did the PVE quest and it did not give me one, I am not doing any PVP for any reason, so that quest is out.
How to you get a volatile wepaon mod for a bow?

2 RepliesThe main issue is the bad description. It says volatile mod but none of the seasonal volatile mods work. Only the limited time event mods count

3 RepliesEdited by BetweenMyself: 2/1/2026 8:48:08 PMYou obtain the first Volatile Weapon Mod, Shattershafts, by completing the Initial Calibration Quest that is picked up from Ada. The Initial Calibration Quest itself requires that you complete two Subquests, Prototype Tuning Traits and Prototype Tuning Bowstring, which must both be picked up from Ada after you have received the first Quest (on the same character as well). The first of these Subquests requires Crucible match completions while the second progresses from defeating Combatants in Portal Activities. Once you have completed the Initial Calibration Quest and received Shattershafts you will be able to pick up Quests for the two other Volatile Mods for the event, Tungsten Bowstring and Jumpshot. Note that all Shattershafts and Jumpshot can only be applied to Primary ammo Bows; Heavy Bows can only equip Tungsten Bowstring. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

OP: it’s very doable…even the PvP element via the event game mode. The mods are fun to use - in PvP / PvE …a pity they disappear after the event… I’d like to keep them! 😎 That is all. Ease Strings! 🖖👻 MTFBWY
