We need an option to toggle crossplay in crucible. PC players have a distinct advantage which makes pvp unfair and unfun

If you're profile checking someone and they have cross-saved enabled, Steam/Epic being their active profile does not mean they're in your lobby on PC. If you're seeing PC players in the console pool (ie screen icon, instead of the PS/Xbox/controller logo), provide a clip showing them there.

It’s already like that. Console only plays against console (unless in a fireteam with a pc player).

Hey there, that is handled automatically and for that reason.
Competitive game modes such as Gambit and Crucible playlists will be divided into two matchmaking pools, one for console players (PlayStation and Xbox) and one for PC players. If a console player joins a fireteam containing PC players (Steam, Microsoft Store, Epic Games), the fireteam will be matchmade into the PC player pool for the activity. Additionally, Trials of Osiris will require players to have Cross Play enabled to participate.
If you've experienced things not working like the above, could you locate the match in your game history, select it, and then use the chain link item to get a direct link to that match.
