Since I started playing destiny again a little over a year ago, I have been exclusively playing titan and warlock. Don’t really have time to play 3 characters, and with all the posts complaining about hunters, I simply avoided playing the class. Then with Renegades, using warlocks getaway build with lots of grenade stat, felt like cheating, and solar titan with stronghold and praxic, again lots of fun. I tried to solo the new dungeon flawless, haven’t done it yet and I’m not the greatest of players, but I really want to try and get it done. I dunno, I struggle switching between the grenade and tactical ability in there, and find it annoying. I struggled with titan getting the damage on the bosses. Survivability is fine, it’s just the damage. So then I decided to give hunter a go, since I have time over Christmas. So I started with prismatic hunter and fortunes favour. And I’ve been blown away by it to be honest. The first encounter I simply abuse threaded spectre, which allows me to kill all the gladiators without being lasered by the adds. Did it on my second attempt. And with the bosses, tether, 10 seconds of radiant plus Wolfsbane means that during the harrow fight I can get close to a 2 phase but it’s an easy 3. With titan it was taking 4 rotations. And same with sere, the invis helps a lot, the triple jump is amazing for jumping around, I can also grapple to the top without using the platforms. I’m near invincible when doing damage to the sere, thanks to attrition orbs and smoke jumper. And having the void over shield, all the time, is just really nice. And not having to rely on my grenade means I’m not having to switch the tactical ability button all the time, which on controller is simply annoying for me. So many times I died as a warlock as I had the wrong thing active. Hunter has made this dungeon seem a lot easier, and I will try for the solo flawless on this character. I always thought hunters were in a bad state, and maybe they are, but this build is top tier and giving me a lot of fun.
