Poor Optimization and horrible stutters.

I haven't played this game in at least two years and noticing the performance decrease is borderline dogshit. "Borderless Windowed" doesn't even fill the screen all the way and "Fullscreen" stutters like absolute -blam!-. Why even take away Fullscreen exclusive? Makes zero sense. And I know it's absolutely nothing to do with my computer, this is quite literally the only game I have played that performs this bad. There is no reason for my rig to drop even below 200fps. Fix your game instead of -blam!- posting Starwars DLC's. GPU : 5080 CPU : 14900ks RAM : 64gb DDR5 5800 [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate. Welcome to the club man, lots of us are having this issue but seems that Bungie ignores it. RTX 5070 Ryzen 7700 32GB RAM 2 TB storage 1440p 180hz monitor Not a weak rig by any means but… Tried everything, lowered resolution, lower the FPS, lower in game settings, clear cache, reinstall the game, drivers, and this is the only game that gives issues. Dosent help that they haven’t put out an optimization patch in a while + the removal of dedicated full screen was the salt in the wound too lol.

      • If you installed Win update 24H2 up to 25H2 there is a service running that will greatly impact gaming, CPU load etc. Nvidia hot fix 581.94 is supposed to resolve the issue. Use task manager to make sure "DELIVERY OPTIMIZATION" is set to manual and not auto. It has been identified as a memory leak. What are you seeing for CPU and GPU use percentage while in D2? Are you using afterburner or precision X1 to set your gpu values? The 5080 series has been detuned, thanks to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, focusing on AI. No loyalty to the gamers that made them billions. I have a an i9 running @ 5ghz, rtx3090ti ftw3, 32gigs ram, MSI godlike motherboard that normally brute forces it way through anything I throw at it but after the update it was like driving on 4 flat tires. Do you notice you take more damage at higher fps? Btw I miss the old full screen too.

        • There is a hotfix driver in the Nvidia forums to take care of that. It's a Windows issue with the new update.

          • My rig is nowhere near as good as yours, but I used to play for hours without stuttering this badly. Now, from time to time, I need to relog because there is a point where the game becomes unplayable without doing it. I reinstalled all net framework packs, and it alleviated a bit.

              • Idk what happened to the tower, but I’ve been getting the worst stutters there. I go from 144 fps to 60 around there.
