Title says it all. MAKE INVASIONS OPTIONAL…
A large amount of people don’t like gambit because of the combination of pve and pvp, why are you forcing it on everyone again?
The drop off in pve difficulty to get rid of the invader makes it just another steam roll. I want the pve difficulty without the invader and this activity would feel like a decent win imo.
As it stands now, I likely will finish the quests and go find something else to play. Bungie just can’t seem to get out of their own way…

They are optional, though, even in contested areas. Though to be fair, even with them on, invaders aren't that hard to deal with and you get three extra lives to deal with them as soon as they come in. Get a maxed out recon shank and a Behemoth and dealing with them becomes stupidly easy. And if for some reason it's not, it's usually three lives. Unless your team is struggling, it's really nothing.

10 Replies100% agree.. you will get a lot of nonsense replies to this but the fact is they should never mix PvP and PvE …

The amount of whining in this community is absolutely embarrassing.

They are very optional
-
I've played those new activities 3 times only. Not because of the invasion thing i just did not like them at all.

1 ReplyAll difficulties and nodes should be invadeable…
-
3 RepliesExcept your topic is a lie. No invasions are available on every difficulty. The are Red nodes... invade'able. Gold Borders.... invade'able. At any given time there's 3-4 nodes... at GM that are PvE only. And if you don't like the choices, it changes every 15-30 mins.

1 ReplyBut then it would be the Lawful Frontier, wouldn't it?
-
6 RepliesJust go to a planet that isn't contested and you won't get invaders. Nobody is forcing you to queue into contested territory.
-
3 RepliesYeah I’m glad I didn’t buy the dlc. When I saw it was basically gambit 3.0 with extraction shooter mechanics and no health regen I said not for me. If I’m in a pve mode I don’t want any PvP mechanics period especially in this game where no one does objectives anymore.
-
5 RepliesJust pick a territory that isn’t contested.
-
2 Repliesi don't get, why people don't like invasion, the 3 players have a huge advantage vs the invader, if you lose you lose nothing since the game gives you 3 revives when you get invaded, and when you win you get free loot. SITS players will always try to kill the game
-
It’s been said before that to many, the lawless frontier activity is a light version of an extraction game and Bungie is hoping people will like it and then buy marathon. I’m not buying marathon.
-
Expert (no invasions) puts you at -15 Power, Grandmaster (invadable) puts you at -25 Power. Do you really think a -10 is going to make it that much less of a "steam roll"?
-
They are optional, lol. On all difficulties.
-
They are 🤷🏻♂️ literally 3 modes for each activity. Plus, the way the mode ended up being designed makes it so unless the invader gets 6 kills to remove 6 revives l, or invades an already struggling team, it’s easy to recover and finish the activity most of the time.
-
They are.
-
I don’t even know what all of that is if I’m honest …
-
Yeah they're straight garbage. Was so glad when I could just avoid them.
-
What bothers me the most with it is that it is forced in. There can only be one invasion per run, you get 3 revive tokens when someone invades. Making deaths not matter. You don't lose anything by dying, so again no loss on death. Invasions can take a few seconds, killing an invader does nothing. Not to mention how there is a 1 vs 1 that is in just a small part of a map, that feels so weirdly placed but at the same time how it was originally supposed to be until they added a 1 vs 3. I mean seriously, as soon as you receive 3 revives, you know that there is an invader coming. You can just call in your behemoths and spawn kill them until they are out of lives. Again it takes like a few seconds. So what is the point of this mode ?
-
Just play 90% of the rest of the game if you can’t stand pvp
-
eeriearcadeAlright, alright, alright. - old
I’m all for player choice, whenever possible, but The Lawless Frontier is just one activity and there are different options there. I think Bungie’s made a decent effort at balancing player choice and having an incentive for facing invaders.
