Slide melees are fun. If we're getting new Void melees, my vote is for sliding.
Three of my favorite builds, Felwinter Warlock, Gifted Tempest, and Wishful Storm are all slide melee builds, and I just think they're fun to play, I enjoy the extra level of interactivity (and it helps that they hit like a truck.)
One of Destiny 2's greatest strengths is its fluidity, and slide melees play right into that, they're not just powerful, they're fun to play.
The recent survey asked about new Void Melees, and I'd like to put out there that abilities like Lightning Surge, Tempest Strike, Flechette Storm, and Consecration are among the most satisfying loops in the game. Void Consecration with Destabilizing/Volatile would be incredibly cool.

1 ReplyI'd just like actually lethal melees for Hunter and Warlock besides "let me tickle you with smoke" and "get booped" A tormentor grab style melee for Warlock where the player quickly grabs the enemy and tips their life force from them to restore their own and insta procs Devour would be cool. And for Hunter, maybe something that utilises the Void Blades, perhaps with a weakening or volatile effect if we want to stay thematic.
