Stop rubbing in that you removed SIVA and Rasputin.
EDIT: I AM TALKING ABOUT THE BUSINESS REASON FOR BUNGIE TO DO THIS, NOT THE LORE REASON. NOT THE STORY, OR NARRATIVE, OR WHATEVER YOU CALL IT. Stupid people keep saying “bEcAuSe XiVu ArAtH-“ Okay, WHY did the story have to be made so that Xivu Arath could only be defeated by Rasputin killing himself? I MEAN THE ACTUAL REASON THAT PEOPLE WORKING AT BUNGIE DECIDED THAT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA AND HAD TO BE LIKE THIS.
WE GET IT. You people at bungie killed off SIVA, so it’s dead. WHAT WE DON’T UNDERSTAND IS WHY. Same thing for Rasputin and Warmind stuff - WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU REMOVE ALL THAT? SIVA and Warmind stuff are the ONLY things appealing to certain people such as myself who love the “Tech” aesthetic. Do you people at Bungie seriously not understand that? I HATED it when Rasputin died. I was RIDICULOUSLY excited for Season of the Seraph, only to find out that my favourite and the coolest character in the game is being killed off by Bungie, MAKING THE ENTIRE WARMIND AESTHETIC UNUSABLE EVER AGAIN. Ditto for SIVA - no more SIVA weapons, ever again. No more IKELOS weapons, ever again. No more stuff like Hierarchy of Needs either. Now, in Heliostat, there are pointless voice lines repeating that SIVA is dead. Not to mention, you keep putting us into abandoned Warmind facilities for ZERO REASON. It feels like you people are laughing at us, assuming we don’t understand and rubbing in our faces that you want us NOT to enjoy the lore. When I heard about Heliostat, i was hoping, PRAYING that the new Warmind- themed exotic mission would show us recieving one last weapon from Rasputin or making something with SIVA. Nope. So why is it EVEN IN A WARMIND FACILITY, IN THE PLAGUELANDS? WHAT WAS THE POINT OF BRINGING PLAGUELANDS BACK AT ALL? Bungie has a serious problem with removing ANYTHING PEOPLE ENJOY from the lore. I just wish i understood WHY they did this. We want the REASON, not “HAHA, YOUR FAVOURITE STUFF IS ALL DEAD.”

1 ReplyI'm just waiting for them to bring back Rasputin with a 'possessed' Archie. It's going to happen eventually. Maybe Archie takes over some red-jacks from Shaxx, and uses them to rebuild a body. Then takes that body to Rasputin' s secret SIVA stash, and uses it to build a new bunker, and a new body. And the feeling will be that Rasputin will have to face the Conductor. My only hope is that the voice for this version of Rasputin is the voice of Clovis, putting on a bad Russian accent. Imagine the in-game content to make that story happen - bring back the D1 strike on Mars, bring back the Warsat launch activity. So much to bring into it. Could you imagine the new Rasputin Exo going as 'Rasputin Fellwinter'.....

I mean SIVA is great and I think the plagulands deserved better than this half assed explanation without Saladin or Ana. But we did destroy the the replication complex and the splicers controlling it. Rasputin is gone, so yea it kinda makes sense SIVA is no longer functional.

11 RepliesWhat am I forgetting ? I don’t remember siva being that great, the raid was a lot of fun and outbreak is cool but what else was so great about siva ? I remember we had siva fallen but I don’t remember them being anything too special. Not trying to disagree with you, I’m just curious why ppl are so upset about siva being gone when I can’t remember it being that special in the first place.

8 RepliesIf you look at the basic function of the Xivu Arath as Hive God of War, there was no winning solution against her while Rasputin existed. Somehow or way they would've been used against us. He was AI, like the computer in the movie War Games. The only winning move is to not play.

15 RepliesPeople saying Rasputin died helping humanity and SIVA died with iron lords sacrificing themselves don’t really pay attention to the lore. Unfortunately the story writers ran out of stuff to piggy back the lore for those characters so they did the next dumb thing and killed therm both off instead of developing them. I could go on for hours about how dumb it was and how rasputin was literally one of the most underrated characters in the lore but most people haven’t read the grimoire enough to know how bad things are lore wise. And once they fired Christopher barret that was all she wrote. Actually waited years for more direct in game stuff with rasputin and told myself once season of the seraph ended i would slow down playing depending on how they played rasputins character out. And i did. A lot. Actually in some ways i feel like that’s where destiny ended for me. SIVA was one of the coolest concepts this game ever saw and really played into the depth of Destiny’s multiple lore angles and i just loved it.

I think that there are Elements among both management and the Senior Devs, that rescent something that they didn't want to make being so beloved.

10 RepliesYou are asking Bungie to be creative, come on, we both know they won't ever overdeliver on anything after Forsaken. D1 Plaguelands had a similar feeling to me to the Quarantine Zone in Halo 2, evil mutated aliens with weird tech trying to kill you. Sure we get D2 Plaguelands but without the Plague, I guess its just the Lands now. Quicksilver instead of SIVA because Bungie likes to reskin things and retcon anything else to make the story worse over time. I liked in the Grimoires when there was mention of other Warminds, Rasputin being the last.

The powers that be don't want to acknowledge the B team that extended D1s life cycle untill D.5 was ready, made a "Filler" expansion that ended up being better than anything they have come up with -
They said the strangers story was wrapped up in d1. People threw a fit thinking she wouldn't be back. Always cracked me up, they said end, and it was like the Internet showed how innocent it can be. So you're a techie. Rasputin can think superluminal, is to think of solutions alongside humans, understands mortality of humanity through son, and is essentially in a quantum state. So maybe, he thought of a solution. This ASI, it's like looking into its thoughts on how to save humanity.

31 RepliesI don't really want to be too judgmental or criticize too harshly since I personally am not a writer, but in my opinion the quality of the lore and storylines have taken a massive nosedive since around Witch Queen and I don't know what changed but they have been very unappealing and bland to me for some time now. In this instance, it felt more like they wanted to kill off Rasputin as a plot device to get rid of Warmind Cells because they didn't know how else to balance the game around them (or make new weapons to work with them) than make it a significant plot point as there could be so many ways around this. Lets think of this another way; surely there were hidden/sequestered pockets of sub-minds unconnected to the network throughout Sol, for instance in the facilities on Io (as it still has not returned) which would could have been a way for the system to rebuild itself, or have nefarious villains such as Clovis or Maya restart the system as their own personal Warmind system from the remaining pieces. Honestly there is so much existing lore that they could build on but it seems that the writing team just wants to generate different, newer factions and ideas instead and leave old lore either as loose ends or wrap their stories up hastily and unsatisfactorily, which in this case of SIVA its more of an observation of the desecrated remains of a fan-favorite destination rather than a nostalgia trip.

If anything we revived it and contaminated the whole galaxy lmao. Bungie makes no sense (also if we killed siva how come we get siva ornaments huh ?)
