Hear me out. What if the Taken faction had Taken Guardians among its ranks? They could be equipped with some sort of corrupted weapon, like a Taken Thorn or Malfeasance. There's potential for some real shenanigans here—let me explain. If Bungie were to implement Taken Guardians as enemies in the game, instead of only giving them a generic taken-ish gun (as in my previous example), let them have access to a huge arsenal of exotic weapons and maybe even armor, all with a Taken visual touch. That visual touch could then be turned into ornaments to be sold in the Eververse store, to make Bungo happy ._. With the Taken Guardians now wielding exotics, how would you explain this by lore standards? Let's just assume some Guardian goes on a mission where they run into the Taken. The Guardian is defeated—let's say they were a wimp and got their -blam!- handed to them. They are then Taken by some powerful force, maybe by the thing on the Dreadnaught. The introduction to this threat in the system would probably go something like: "Guardian — the Taken are growing stronger. Go see WTF is going on with those weirdos. o7"
