Im well aware of a good amount of the problems in this game but the player counts getting really low whose to say they wont just turn the servers off if it gets low enough. Now im not saying to willingly suffer through the game at current state but is there something to do that can prolong the game I love and hopefully the game you all love. Frankly there isint quite a game like destiny 2 and id rather not see a game ive put so much time into burn into ashes. Before all of this we had destiny 2 vanilla and curse of osiris whos to say we cant go back to another forsaken.

Yeah, I don’t want it to tank either. My favorite game since gears 3. But based on current trends…
-
Well unfortunately Bungie doesn't give two wet fart about it otherwise they wouldn't do what they do

There was a time when Destiny used to be very good and had a massive playerbase, literally millions of players. Nowadays, the vast majority of players have quit and the game is in a terrible state.

tbh, in order for it to not die ? they need to get rid of the portal entierely, and go back to the old systeme NOBODY complained about and manage to pull off a forsaken but in reality best we will get will probably be a shadowkeep lmao...but with light sabers..yay (as a person who dont care about star wars this wont make me come back)

Bungie:"Best i can do is 2 tokens and a blue"
-
This is the danger of social media. Don't let a relative handful of whiners distort reality for you. D2 isn't going anywhere, any time soon.
-
Game still has potential to be solid. People like the Destiny franchise and showed with Rising. Just piss poor leadership decisions is ruining this game
-
Everything dies. Deal with it.

Nobody wants the game to die or even do badly; that is why they complain. If that weren't the case they would give up and move on.

I don’t think it will d1 is still going, d2 is in a bad state at the moment it just depends if bungie wants to carry on after renegade’s and how well marathon will do, if marathon bombs then they may put more effort back into destiny.

Edited by FENIX: 10/4/2025 4:33:03 PMThe game is definitely not at its best. But as far as I see it, all it takes for Bungie to get at least some success again, is just one very good DLC. Sure, not everyone will come back. But thousands and tens and hundreds of thousands will. Also people are still playing D1, and this game hasn't been updated for 7 years, so I don't think we will see the servers shut down anytime soon.

I’m in the minority but outside of the Portal being a completely soulless way to interact with the game and the lack of story content driving the season… the game still feels good/great to play. - The loot is good. Armor sets were absolutely needed and stats are much easier to build around. They just need to lean into 4-piece bonuses feeling more impactful. The only sets I see/feel in moment to moment gameplay are the Lustrous and Tec Sec sets. - The power progression just feels backwards though because to get rewards that are meaningful, you have to negate the feeling of the power gains with ridiculous modifiers. You should be getting +1 power drops for every 10 power below the recommended that you are. If I want to casually progress by running strikes on level, let me. If I want to crank difficulty up to -50, give me +5 or +6 power drops.

Exactly what will happen unless we see some left field over-delivery. They just sit and stew on the current DLC until Renegades probably betting on that expansion to pull it back for them. Personally, Renegades outside of the Star Wars flavour actually almost nothing really new. New skills? Theyre just more location/activity based skills instead of actual skill on your subclasses. Adding new weapons or new gear hardly counts as new. Thats the bare minimum for adding stuff in any expansion aside from the DLC campaign itself.
