At this point they need to either announce no more updates to the destiny franchise or sell the rights to another studio.
-
Bungie doesn’t have the capacity or creativity to make good games anymore. The best case scenario is likely selling the Destiny IP, focusing on salvaging Marathon, and fully integrating into Sony.

This is d3. We are slowly transitioning from d2 into d3 that's why it feels like a game within game. They are just taking a warframe approach instead of wipe and restart

Edited by THA_3rd_GUY: 10/4/2025 12:46:48 PMNo, it's not obvious. The cat's out of the bag with how Bungie operates. They are completely checked out of the Destiny franchise. If they made D3, it would just be another soulless cash grab for Bungie to squeeze out of this dead horse. The only way D3 would work is if Bungie gave full control over every aspect of it to another studio. And we all know that's never going to happen.

Edited by Dredgen Wolf: 10/4/2025 11:55:30 AMI thought Bungie put it out in previous TWAB newsletters that they won't be making a D3 due to budget and new IP costs, so instead they decided to extend D2 as the alternative. Welcome to D3 you are in it already! Think about it, old gear made useless for new gear and buildcrafting, stat changes, The Portal. Out with the old DLC's and in with the new.

It's genius. Just abandon the game and make a completely new game, fixing nothing! you should write a book, you're super intelligent.
-
It'll just be recycled garbage like D2
-
What would Destiny 3 fix when it’s the exact same developers who are currently working on this sh*t show of Destiny 2? It’s going to be Vanilla D1 and Vanilla Destiny 2 all over again. If a different developer made it, sure.
-
D3 is NEVER going to be made. Who in their right mind would help fund Bungie making it when they’ve demonstrated their mismanagement of money and the current state of the game?
-
Not developed by bungo look at the mess in d2.
-
Bro really wants history to repeat, huh? D3 will be as much as a disaster as the last several years, don't take your hopes up.
-
What's obvious is people need to get over 'D3.' Even if it were to happen, it likely wouldn't be for several years minimum and most of the people calling for it will have moved on to something else by then anyway.
