The Portal is not the way forward. It may boost engagement temporarily but will undermine it over the long-term. "Engagement" is not "enjoyment." And only enjoyment sustains engagement. Except for the “no-lifers” in the community, most players don't play for loot [i]alone[/i]--they play for an experience, which is itself rewarding. I worry that the current crew at Bungie no longer understands what made the game great: an immersive environment that offered a range of experiences for a range of players with different interests: from the lowly patrol, mission and public event, to the venerable strike, to the pinnacle dungeon and raid. The portal should NOT be a separate destination, but a way to integrate scoring and tiered rewards into EVERY activity the game has to offer. Right now, Destiny feels like a vending machine that is never restocked—not a living breathing universe.

People are just pushing themselves to play which is really sad to see . It’s not healthy. So many other games to play 🤷🏼♂️
