The crucible lobbies are so laggy.
I dont even know whats going on anymore, it feels like when you try to fight someone in a fever dream or something.
People walking through bullets, melee whiffs, double melee whiffs, other players just suddenly snapping into position or teleporting back and forth, that little stutter lag when someone slides, shoots, and just snaps back a meter, killing someone and it takes 3 seconds for the kill to register, all of that goodness that comes with this weird pseudo P2P system Bungie still uses in 2025.
I know its a product of the low population, but it still feels miserable to play in these lobbies, normally you would get these kind of lobbies once in a while, now it feels like its back to back to back.

This what happens when you have a low player base coupled with an off brand sbmm system instead of focusing on connection.

They will probably soon turn the lights off with pvp. Enjoy it while you can..

Just played a few games if competitive and felt like a god so I jumped into control hoping to clap cheeks but got clapped instead... I was getting 2 tapped by everyone and I was shooting spitballs at everyone 😂😢

4 RepliesUh yeah ! PvP is slowly dying. Would be insane to see how many people are maintaining PvP . There’s nothing coming up . So enjoy it while it is around . So many cheaters now as well ….you know who you are !

This sucks. I'm noticing it too. I'm at a point now where there are 0 lfgs for raids and the only interesting activity anymore is pvp However...it sucks bad. This is one issue with it

Edited by EMUracing: 10/2/2025 2:55:23 PMAs I'm thoroughly bored with Portal PvE, I have been playing mostly pvp. The last is -blam!- in Control in most games, generally better in the rotator list. However, this week is elimination which is basically like playing trials which i will do over the weekend. Control, I feel that I'll get one good game per 3-4 where I feel a second behind the play and don't do damage with shots half the time. Playing the game when in this state is not enjoyable. I don't care about skill differences much, I do care about feeling handicapped by connection quality. The matchmaking really needs to be reworked to connection based on all modes.

Yeah lag is becoming a real problem. PvP was already unplayable before , but now it's even worse.

Played yesterday a Control game against a stacked team that clearly "lagged"...

I am constantly reporting "cheaters" for network lag cause I am never sure whether it's network problems or scam. May Bungie check it. But yes, sometimes it's insane. I can recall a game where I was shooting and made no damage at all and enemy team was just running past me. I think they didn't even see me, I felt like God mode unfortunately could not kill anyone. And my network connection of course with LAN!!! and cable is state of the art.

1 ReplyAnd it's worse now because the only people still playing are those with the greatest advantage. I played a couple hours yesterday and kept seeing many of the same players over and over.
