Bungie is unwilling and incapable of course correcting

Frankly, I don't think there's enough willingness to push more money back into Destiny to fix what's wrong, nor do they creatively want to do what's needed: 1. Bungie NEEDS to hire more QA staff, or hire back some of the previous QA. This is THE beginning step. The fact is that modern Destiny has 10x the amount of bugs with each patch and each DLC than prior to the layoffs. We have clear evidence of this in the DLCs, their major releases that grab the most attention and make spikes in revenue for them. If they can't even get those releases correct, it suggests that the QA staff is either incapable of doing it or they simply don't have enough hands to do it. 2. Bungie needs direct player involvement in creating things for Destiny. And no, I don't mean invite certain people out to the studios. Bungie needs to take a look at their forum and Reddit, put a list together of the top most requested changes/additions/features, and THEN allow us to vote on it directly within the game. Outside of that, put in a "tell us what you'd like if it's not mentioned here" field. And they need to do ALL of this very often. 3. Bungie needs to correct whatever disconnect keeps happening at their studio. There have been FAR too many instances of Bungie saying they are listening after a slip up, we get a patch that aims to change something NO ONE ASKED FOR(and it end up hurting the playerbase), and THEN after a few months we finally see those unrequested changes get reverted while getting something we DID ask for. We DO NOT NEED this back and forth, 1-step-forward-2-steps-back approach. The fact that it has happened SO MANY TIMES? It makes it hard for me to not think that it's intentional. 4. The grind within the game SHOULD NOT be forced and it should ONLY be the "point" with desirable armor/weapons. The last time I played(before uninstalling) was August 23rd. Frankly, I quit because it was THE longest grind they ever introduced into the game that you NEEDED to endure just to experience the new stuff they added. The carrot was visible at the end of the stick, thanks to solstice. But you still had to walk up a steep hill for hours before you fully got to play with the new toys. By the time I called it and uninstalled, I STILL hadn't made it to 300 power and I didn't have any new major builds because I wasn't lucky enough to get armor drops that would actually replace the old armor I already had. So I was expected to grind for the chance to try the new things that may not even replace what I had, all just to get slightly more uptime on abilities. The grind was THE point, and I don't play games just to grind, especially if the grind was initially optimized to work the best by playing the same thing over and over and over, all while doing it solo. None of this even brings up the topic of how the rest of the game feels like a barren wasteland because you've put everything modern and worth-while ONLY in the portal. I just wish Bungie was willing to listen and act on what needs to be done, but... I don't think they can or will. I just hope that future entries into the looter-shooter genre end up learning from Bungie's mistakes, because I don't wanna end up on this treadmill under a different developer.

  • There is nothing to fix in D2. Nothing that wouldn't take a complete overhaul of the engine and upgrading it completely. The tiger engine they use is so old and outdated that every time they plug something in, three other things break. They should have just made D3 a few years back on something newer.
