To Bungie,
As a dedicated Destiny 2 player who has stood by this universe through its highs and lows, I write this with a heavy heart. The current state of the game feels like watching a once-legendary star collapse under its own weight. Destiny 2 was more than just a game—it was a community, a passion, a place where stories were forged and friendships formed. But now, that spark is fading.
The introduction of Armor 3.0 has shattered a decade of investment in crafting, build optimization, and personal expression. For middle-of-the-pack players like myself—those who aren’t streamers or elite raiders but who care deeply about the game—this change feels like a gut punch. We spent years fine-tuning our gear, experimenting with synergies, and chasing that perfect roll. Now, it’s all been flattened into a system that feels generic, disconnected, and punishing.
Instead of empowering creativity, Armor 3.0 has erased it. The grind no longer feels rewarding. The builds no longer feel personal. And the motivation to log in, to chase goals, to feel proud of our Guardians… it’s slipping away.
I’m not writing this to attack. I’m writing this because I care. Because I want Destiny 2 to thrive. But right now, it feels like the soul of the game is being sacrificed for systems that alienate the very players who kept it alive.
Please listen. Please reconsider. Don’t let this be the legacy of a game that once inspired millions.
Sincerely,
A Guardian who still hopes
