"Man, I hate this stupid game. I QUIT! but I'm still going to spam the forums, and reddit about how much I hate this game. I'm gonna spam "This game sucks" in every streamer's chat during a day 1 raid. I'm going to seek out videos about Destiny and complain about how much I hate the game.
I stopped playing in Lightfall but I'm still gonna complain about gear tiering. I haven't formed a single thought for myself in the past 2 years. What's that? Is somebody actually enjoying this game? I can't have that, I need to DM them death threats!
Someone's using a gun I don't like in trials, I'm gonna DM them death threats, call them trash, and leave the match! Maybe I'll get back into the game, just to rage cheat in quickplay, just so others are just as miserable as I am!"
I just don't think I'd be able to work very well if I had someone yelling at me about how I'm not doing good enough, every single update. you people confuse insults for feedback.
Sorry the post is hardly Destiny 2 related, but the community is what's making me miserable at the moment, not the game.

People love this game and are very unhappy with the direction it is going in, and they are also completely bemused and underwhelmed at Bungie's attempts to fix it, so yes, they will seek platforms to vent their frustrations in the hope they will be heard.

Can people be less dramatic sure. However people are tired of the “we’re listening” only to get something little to half of what people are asking for. It’s been happening for way too long now and people only have so much patience. The player numbers and community sentiment reflect that.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 9/30/2025 12:26:24 AMAn indomitable task given the circumstances. If Bungie made any mistake, it was not prioritizing community morale.... However, let's remember how this went down, shall we? The CEO cut labor by half... networking and security, QA... and decimated player support (it was down to ONE person at one point). You know what enrages most people? That stuff. Poor networking and security... poor QA & player support. You got DMG doing the best he can with his team, but the social media team essentially turned into an emergency dispatch... and a mouthpiece for hype that often exacerbated frustrations. How petty. If the CEO set out and planned specifically to shift blame and to incite a fire amongst the community that was already a smoldering pitch because of his incompetence and bad decisions. I think he did.

Don't just lump everyone into one pile because a portion of the community are -blam-hats. Me personally? I'm all aboard the Destiny hate train but I'm still going to civil about it.

Another option would be to go onto the forums for games you don't play and bomb the hell out of them just for spite, ideally the ones people here claim to have moved onto. I can't see it being any pettier than what happens here.
Sorry the post is hardly Destiny 2 related, but the community is what's making me miserable at the moment, not the game.
And both interacting with the game or the forums are the individuals choice. I agree that way too many have a very unhealthy obsession with destiny and bungie,

People loved this game, sheesh I did. It was one of a kind and had reached the end of its life. And they keep bashing it and ruining it. I quit months ago because of the changes they were going to make in eof.
