It’s honestly wild to see that, in all of Destiny’s history, player engagement has never been lower than it is now, thanks to these ridiculous Edge of Fate system changes.
If Bungie had just skipped Edge of Fate entirely, things would look better. Even with no new content at all, the game would be in a healthier spot.
What’s funniest is that with a little new content, and these awful systems, the game is actually doing worse than it did during those classic dry spells when everyone was bored but logging in anyway.
Credit where it’s due, though: whoever designed and approved these changes just delivered Destiny’s biggest, most avoidable self-inflicted wound. They could have left everything alone, added some new missions, and everyone - devs, players, and Bungie’s bank account - would be much better off.

This season is like a punish for all.
