Seen a few posts on social media comparing Destiny > Warframe > Destiny Rising inspired me writing this. As someone that loves both franchises the key point is clarity, community feedback, patience, understanding, resolution. All of these are very much core values in game development. As Destiny fans too many years of abuse, level shackling, sunsetting, un-needed pivot points led up to where we're at now. The truth is as much as I've loved Bungie in the past there is no excuse in what upper management has put players & game devs through. Destiny can be an amazing experience but the root of its issues needs its core values shaken up. A state of play needs to be addressed. No corporate speel, no teleprompter, just legitimate truths. It feels every update has been "it's in the works, can't say anything till next week / expansion in 3-6 months" The truth is in comparison to Warframe, many of us still see Destiny as a restaurant we enjoy going to. For better or worse it still adds a different flavor in the gamescape. After many years we've enjoyed the menu "gun-play, gameplay, cosmetics,design" but it's become apparent the dishes aren't as flavorful as they use to be. The chefs may have good intention but the owners of the establishment are withholding ingredients to create a better pizza. To a sense adding truffle oil, caviar & gold foil to every dish is not what Bungie needs *cough cough eververse and mixed design nerfs. As members of the community we want to know what we ordered on the menu. The Pepperoni pizza is what we've come for all these years. But the dough has been undercooked , with too much grease in the middle , you recieve your receipt and they taxed you on extra refills and you didn't even get a straw or napkins. Destiny Rising has only made it more apparent with all the quality of life changes they have as well. I absolutely love the franchise, been dedicated since the beginning but we can't glaze Bungie. To many of us, this is our comfort game and we'd play it till the ship sinks. I genuinely feel we really just want clarity. This is for sure a defining time between developers & community vs upper management in leading roles. People will say you can't compare both games but the truth is the defining aspect is its community , active feedback loops are needed to make a healthy relationship. Please Bungie, we need more defining moments of clarity, truth & support for player sentiment.
