I was thinking about this and it really annoys me. I hate Bungie making armor sets that have limited access. And I’m not talking things like Trials or Raid gear…
I’m talking Iron Banner and event gear (Solstice so far), with others soon to come.
Locking a set of armor behind a limited window of opportunity to access is incredibly scummy and clearly only done to drive up playtime metrics as people grind.
Meanwhile, I have mostly tier 3 lustrous armor and some tier 4 because I wasn’t high enough along power progression during solstice to no-life the game and capitalize on higher tier drops - now with NO way to get that armor.
Iron Banner was around for what, a week? Solstice was two. Festival of the Lost will be two. Meanwhile, we have nothing special this week (besides the epic raid LOL).
I get it - they’ve always done this with event weapons but that is typically a much easier grind, especially when they incorporate ways to focus on a weapon or purchase it directly. Now adding the armor is 5 more items to loot, each with multiple types. I really enjoy the idea of grinding for armor to customize builds but I hate being forced to do it in a tight window of time.
And the most important part - I hate that it’s just another instance of Bungie not respecting our time.
