This is insane. If I want to use any 200 power gear UP TO BELOW MY CURRENT POWER LEVEL, IT COSTS ~ 17,000 UNSTABLE CORES TO INFUSE. WHY? JUST WHY?! If it were up to CURRENT power level (490) it is closer to 20,000.
I'm TIRED of playing almost forcibly obligated with the featured gear, this is by design a bad system of coercion. Please, either SCRAP THIS FROM THE GAME ENTIRELY, or make it so that the cost for infusion is LOW and pulling stuff from collections to drop AT LEVEL POWER, not 200.
Bungie, you are making this game feel frustrating TO EVEN PLAY!

If I want to upgrade an Exotic that I haven't used in a while, I first have to farm for the materials, which would be fine, except if I'm wanting to try out a new build it's an even bet that I'm getting tired of my old build. It's like walking ten miles in your old shoes before you can try on a new pair. Unstable cores are something we should be able to stock pile, and you can if you're using a single build on a single character, but it's too easy to blow through that stockpile and find yourself stuck. "Oh, my build didn't work, now I'm down to seven Unstable Cores and can't upgrade anything else." Either costs need to come down, or rewards need to go up. I think Bungie sees Featured Gear as a solution to power creep; instead of making the new guns better than the old ones, just slap a temporary +10% damage bonus onto them... ...but that also makes old gear strictly inferior to the new stuff, which doesn't feel good. Soft sunsetting doesn't feel good. I know that's been said a lot, but it's true. A +10% bump for new gear is equivalent to a -10% loss for old gear (comparatively) which feels artificial. I want to use new weapons because they're genuinely better than what I had before, not because they get a +10% damage buff from The Architects.
