This is something I wanted to talk about, and that is, there are apparently two Ace of Spades in Destiny 2, but let me explain.
In The Final Shape, Cayde uses a fragmented Ace of Spades, a light-cracked version of the weapon.
And as we know, in Forsaken, the Guardian, after sending Ullren with Tevis Larsen, kept the Ace of Spades as one of his weapons. However, in Final Shape, the Ace of Spades appears fragmented. Wouldn't this mean there are two Ace of Spades in the game's canon?

Lore on the Ace of Spades in D1 Banshee makes them. His is not unique but one of many.

Caydes fragmented ace was made from Light and Wish magic and it vanished along with him when he sacrificed himself for us. So it doesn’t exist now.

As far as variants, potentially. I still have no idea why they didn't have an ornament for Ace of Spades that had that look, seems like an easy choice to be honest. But there are millions of that weapon as copies thanks to the Engram system, they can be duplicated so everyone can have one. That way it doesn't break the lore for another Guardian to kill you with it in Crucible.
