First Descendant Devs give players more compensation for extended maintenance than Bungie does.

Alone this week, with the Day 1 server issues and later on a few days later with the unexpected maintenance we players of that game got both times compensation in XP boosts and such for 3 days (means 6 days in total). Meanwhile Bungie, when they have unexpected extended maintenance doesn't even give us a single bit of bright dust. Funny how a Japan* megacorp is in that case more consumer-friendly than a western game developer. Bungie, you should take notes and an example from that. Giving compensation for your server issues is actually something people can and should expect from you. * I was told it is a Korean company, which doesn't really changes the point I try to make.

Many developers(especially mobile game devs) do this for any kind of maintenance or downtime. AAA companies assume they have your money already so they don't tend to really care when the servers are down/crap and people can't play the game. Nexon and other mobile devs want you back in the game ASAP and will entice you to play with this compensation because there's a slight chance you might spend some money while you're in the game. Compensation directly causes people to keep playing/spend more time in the game and thus increases the chance you'll get a monetary return. Player engagement/time spent in game is one of the biggest metrics that mobile game devs shoot for. Bungie doesn't care, they've already got your $100 for the new DLC and season passes, and the Eververse whales are already accounted for, plus they know people are hard addicted to this game and they can do pretty much whatever they want and it doesn't matter.
