As we all know TFS will be bringing a new patrol location, that being the Pale Heart of the Traveler.
According to Bungie, patrol will unlock for the Pale Heart once the campaign is completed. Pale Heart patrol is meant to be endgame, with the difficulty to back it up.
Now, this is just speculation, but I'm going to assume Pale Heart Patrol will be drastically more rewarding compared to other locations. Hopefully it won't be another instance of Neomuna, where the difficulty was bumped up, but not the rewards.
With Pale Heart patrol being endgame content, won't that make every other patrol location obsolete for those that own TFS?
Bungie, patrol has clearly been neglected for a LONG time. Apart from small changes to the skybox or environment, most patrol locations are no different than they were when they released. Each patrol location is stuck in a certain timeframe. For instance, places like the EDZ are still perpetually trapped in the Red War. A good chunk of the casual playerbase still does patrol, which should tell you that people still enjoy it, even with it's lack of updates.
So with an endgame patrol location being added with TFS, I think our older patrol locations should get some love. Not drastic changes, but changes to make patrol worthwhile. Also, since a large majority of the new player experience is spent in patrol, the fact each patrol location is stuck in a different time line doesn't help new players grasp the story that well. I mean when Red Legion are still hanging around Nessus and the EDZ, things get confusing.

And what makes you think that the pale heart will be more rewarding? Has bungie said anything like that chief? Or the other 20 previous patrol zones established a precedent for that assumption?
