• Likely because of the ornaments and they need this to be grindable for several weeks. If it were craftable we'd all be done in a few days for sure 😂

  • Still several weeks because of the 2 per week.

  • 2 guaranteed per week. You can and many people do get more than 2 per week. Some people get an entire 5/5 in the week the content releases.

  • Because it's not supposed to be in game in the first place for a looter shooter, borderlands adds grinder at best

  • Looter doesn't me RNG loot my guy. There's plenty examples of looting via challenge based activities. RNG is a gotcha mechanic.

  • You may not like the answer.......but it's pretty much simply down to keeping you on the hamster wheel. If you could've crafted them most would've been done by now an then off the game until next reset.

  • Crafting would have been the best thing they added if they only added it to certain things and crafting didn't have enhanced perks. But instead, they added crafting to all the best loot. So now people who didn't like crafting were literally forced to like it because the crafted weapons were 1. easier to get 2. literally better. The implementation was all wrong. Crafting should only have been a safety net. Not the new loot chase.

  • It is a safety net. Since most crafted weapons take 5 whole weeks to get 1 pattern if you are unlucky. Thats 1/3rd of a season for 1 gun

I said it ONLY should have been a safety net. Not the main loot chase. You can get red borders from grinding the activity. It's not just grab a red border per week. There are other ways to obtain them. Deepsight harmonizers are great because you only get enough to craft 1 weapon. So it's a nice safety net in that sense. But if they gave everyone 50 deepsight harmonizers, then there would be a big problem. I don't think you realise, when you have crafting, even if it's over 3 weeks or whatever, that's it for people. They know they're going to get it, so they log on grab the border and log off. They don't feel compelled to play anymore. That's awful for the health of the game. People are logging on, grabbing a red border and maybe feeling a tiny amount of enjoyment (yay I ticked a box on my checklist today...), but barely, because they don't have the weapon crafted yet. If rng was the main chase instead, players log in, they get a weapon to drop and even if it's not the god roll, they will still feel compelled to use it because rng incentivizes such a thing. It makes you appreciate every drop because there is no enhanced crafted version that is much much better waiting for you. With crafting, it's either the god roll or nothing. You don't appreciate any other perk combos. You dismantle every drop of the weapon until you get enough red borders to craft it. That's bad imo.

  • Crafting isn't a problem specifically, even if it's the main chase. A shallow crafting system can be a problem. Even as it is currently, it's healthy to have some level of deterministic rewards because everyone plays the game differently. You may only play for the RNG chase; I play because I enjoy shooters and many of the elements of the game.

There's nothing wrong with crafting being a safety net. But when you make crafting better than everything else, you alienate people who don't like crafting. There has to be balance.

That's a false assumption that crafted weapons are significantly better propagated to cause fomo, and it doesn't alienate because the game balances archetypes and you could still choose to chase a random roll. I may have a crafted Amit but you could pick up any well rolled 450rpm and be competitive.

It's not false and it's not an assumption. It's literally factual lol. There's no point getting Cold Comfort when you can just get a fully enhanced crafted Apex Predator. Reconstruction is a better perk for overall damage than Envious Assassin as it allows you to constantly chain each weapon you have equipped. All Envious is good for is a one time burst of damage. This kind of imbalance is all over the game. Scatter Signal is the best kinetic slot fusion rifle and no kinetic slot fusion rifle competes with it. They are competent, but they don't compete with it. Also, I never said anything about PvP, I'm coming form a place of PvE, not PvP, so look who's making the false assumptions now. But you're helping me make a point by bringing up Ammit, because there was a pretty significant ammit meta in PvP. If you didn't participate in crafting, you were at a disavantage.

  • If those weapons were absolutely terrible but still craftable, would they still be the meta? Probably not. Those are good weapons that happen to also be craftable. I know you meant PvE, but it's still the same point. You can do just fine with any well rolled weapon. Crafting has nothing to do with it.

I think you forget the point i'm making and have now decided to create a new one for me lol. I am not arguing that you can't do well in content with worse weapons. The game is not nearly hard enough for that.
When you make crafting better than everything else, you alienate people who don't like crafting.
Go tell the people who don't particpate in crafting that "you can do just fine" How would you like if every non crafted weapon was better than crafted and the non crafted enjoyers just said to you "You can do just fine with any well rolled weapon"

  • If you choose not to craft good weapons, you're alienating yourself. While it's amazing to take a stand for what you believe in, if it's something you're going to have fun with, isn't that the whole point of playing?

  • If you choose not to grind for rng god rolls, then that's on you. Same logic applies. Don't be a hypocrite

  • That's not logical, or hypocritical because I'm not the one saying I feel alienated, by a crafting table. Cheers

  • Crafting... You will get a raid roll you want after 5 weeks. Normal RNG.. You might never get a roll you want after 5 years. The normal RNG was me up untill witch queen. And now i ONLY use crafted weapons. You must also think about the people who use more than 1 build . They chase an RNG drop for 1 build on 1 subclass. Meanwhile a crafted weapon can be changed as many times as you want to fit any build.

  • Yes that's true for me, I just re-crafted a whole bunch because of deterministic recoil, and being able to create the build I want keeps me interested far more than RNG. Unfortunately, I don't believe we will see much more crafting until Bungie figures out a better system.

  • Crafting killed the pursuit. Hate logging in to get 5 red borders and then done. No one runs anything after a month or so due to patterns being done. Crafting should have been done way differently

It's super unfortunate that they brought crafting out of the gate with enhanced perks because it has created a standard. Crafting should only ever have been a safety net. If you had super bad luck, you could craft the weapon you want, just without enhanced perks. That's always how it should've been. Coz look at shinies. They have the lowest droprate, but people are chasing them, because there is reason to. If crafting existed without enhanced perks, people would still be chasing rng weapons because they would be the only ones that could be enhanceable.
