Banning policy

I have a friend who was banned from playing destiny 2 a few months back. He was a very avid pinnacle activity player, along with the rest of our clan. Looking at the ban appeal policy, he has to provide evidence in his appeal. He has appealed his ban several times, to no avail. So my question is this. How can you expect somebody to give you evidence in a ban appeal if you have no idea why you were banned? Bungie never gave him any description as to why he was banned. He just logged on one day and found out he was banned. No reason given. Everyone was left guessing. He's been playing since launch in D1, so I think he at least deserves an explanation. Am I wrong?

Much as I would love to dunk on bungie the chances are either your friend cheated without telling you or they played with a cheater. I had a cheater on my team in trials. I reported them and instantly left. That’s how I avoided a ban.

You can assume he was cheating and that’s why he was banned. If he tried appealing and providing evidence then he knows why he was banned. So no you’re not right.

If he keeps trying to appeal but is getting denied, there’s your answer. He’s not getting unbanned. Obviously the evidence isn’t concrete enough to appeal it and your “friend” did something. Bungie does not have to give you an explanation. I think it was a BNGHelp account calling out those who claimed they were banned for no reason with the reason. But that’s no longer a thing.
