Mountaintop (Brave) Lore Tab

I haven't seen any posts about this, but if you read the current lore tab for Mountaintop it involves Lord Saladin discussing Twilight Gap and their Iron War Beasts. The last line is concerning to me, which makes it seem like they have some alternative plans in the immediate future:
Lord Saladin states that the Iron War Beasts have been trained in Darkness tactics from as many sources as they can reference. While it makes sense to know your enemy, the last line states having the courage to defy the Light. What could this mean?
Curious what other people are thinking about this, I have theories but probably not correct, and doesn't make much sense to me.

In the tab Saladin's reflecting on Twilight Gap where he made a bad call He ordered a retreat that could have lost the battle Shaxx defied that order and stood his ground, effectively saving the city. Saladin wants his troops to be like Shaxx: able to recognize bad orders and willing to defy them

  • That's because saladin still views light & dark as good vs evil instead of what they really are. Grey. Neutral. Ton of lore where lightbearers were awful people. Everyone knows about rezyl azzir (dredgen yor). The powers of darkness & hive magics were thought to be too dangerous & anyone who wields these powers will be corrupted. Which is true. But the guardian, Eris morn, Elsie bray, & drifter show that it is possible to not succumb to that temptation. TL;DR I highly doubt caitil is planning to turn on us & this is just Saladin trying to tell shaxx without telling shaxx check your girl caitil lol

    • Why... on the verge of the collapse would you defy the light? And what does that mean? We are the light, or so we've been told. Defy the Vanguard then? Or join Xivu... the forces they fought at Twilight Gap? The light is lie. It's fake. The collapse is upon us once again, and that lore foreshadows it.

      • It’s a lead up to the twist in TFS. Dark and Light both came from the Gardener, we can never truly stop Darkness because it’s a law of the cosmos like Light, neither one is inherently good or bad. Basically what we’ve known since base D1, they are trying to make the franchise twist.
