Prismatic needs to have more grenade options

Watching the dev preview I was really hype for Prismatic at first, until the following blog post revealed how limited the selection of abilities from the existing 5 subclass elements was going to be. Only having 1 grenade option per element per class is not nearly enough IMO especially with how arbitrary the choice of which class gets what grenade seems to be. In particular, only giving Warlocks access to Healing 'nade instead of making it available on all 3 classes (which was arguably one of the best changes of the solar 3.0 update, since it gave Titans and Hunters a panic healing option in higher difficulty content) but in turn not giving Warlocks access to any damaging solar grenade option. Likewise only giving Hunters access to Grapple for their Strand grenade, when it was even specifically stated in the Lightfall ViDoc that Grapple was originally planned to be for hunter only but was ultimately decided it was way too much fun to not share it with the other two classes as well (even if Hunters still had access to the better version of it thanks to the Widow's Silk aspect), so why limit it to just Prismatic Hunters now. With the current system for prismatic that we've seen so far, there is a total of 15 grenade options (1 per element per class), so why not just make all 15 available to all 3 classes?? Let Prismatic Warlocks and Titans Grapple if they want to! Let Prismatic Hunters and Titans have Healing 'nade if they want it! Let all 3 classes have at least 3 grenades to choose from per element, so they can really make their build their own.

  • Yeah I agree. It really doesn’t sit well with me that the most customizable subclass has such few real options. Like I’m a Titan and I LOVE using the grapple. Getting stuck with the shackle just makes me not care about prismatic in the least. I was so excited to mix an match to make my perfect subclass and now it seems like a wasted chance to add something cool

  • And why would anyone ever use the Magnetic grenade if the Vortex is available. Why would anyone ever use Incendiary if Healing is available. Why would anyone ever use anything outside of the meta. Each of the new Prismatic Subclasses serve a specific Fantasy and function Hunters are focused on agility and moving around the map. It is why they have multiple Dodge Aspects, the best Arc melee, which refunds dodges, and a Grapple. Titans focus on Priming and then Detonating a target. We have Glacial Grenades, shackles, and Aspects that freeze or suspend a target. This makes them available to demolish with a following, powerful attack, like consecration and thunderclap. Warlocks have the weakest class identity and could be considered the Generalist of all three Prismatic Subclasses, focusing on Hybridization as opposed to unique playstyles.

    • I'm fine with having one ability of each element if we got more than one aspect to choose from for each element. Preferably while still limited 3 grenade options per element, 1 melee option per element, 1 super option per element, and 2 aspect options per element. This would give more freedom of choice and build potential but not make it a problem.
