Frenzy is just MoA but better in every way? Frenzy activates when gun is stowed, gives same damage buff, gives 100 Handling, gives 100 Reload Speed, AND lasts longer than Master of Arms? Bungie why even include this perk if you are just gonna make it less than useless? MoA needs to be buffed HARD to be viable.

Nostalgia, hallelujah baby!
-
Frenzy sucks in pvp
-
I’m thinking they’re going to buff it so I’m keeping the 5/5 roll I have with it in case.
-
Why would you take master of arms or frenzy over desperate measure is the real question but yea master of arms is complete trash.
-
For PvP really. Frenzy is annoying to activate in crucible, while MoA is just kill activated
-
Nostalgia?... .. as a weapon of war. Style as a hallmark of victory.
-
MoA should buff body shot damage more than it buffs precision damage like how it originally worked.

Surrounded and it's 40% damage buff says hi I may go for a threat detector surrounded roll,or sub/surrounded I can't decide -
Edited by Obi-Juan: 4/19/2024 2:11:47 PMNostalgia. Tonnes of perks exist that no ones ever going to use that have way less of a reason to equip than master of arms. Some people are gonna just use it coz nostalgia

Maybe Bungie didnt want people calling for everything to be sunset again because they couldnt put down a weapon they claim to be tired of using...
-
For me, a lot of stuff needs buffs these days. MoA is also a unique perk exclusive to Recluse. Why not keep it strong like before considering you can't get it on any other weapon along with it being a random roll now. There is no point in majority of the nerfs Bungie has done over the years a this point.
-
It doesnt need to be buffed hard. It just needs to be what it oroginally was and thats 20% damage increase. Also it procs when not using recluse.
-
It can also be reprocced just by taking/dealing damage from any source, unlike MoA which requires another kill. MoA sucks enormous meat and there’s a trillion better perks. Hell, you can go slap on Golden Tricorn and get more usage.
-
I don’t think MoA is bad just 900 RPM smgs are really bad in pve. Desperately need a buff

Why would you take anything over Voids version of Incandescent and Voltshot ,ie Destabilizing Rounds Frenzy is too situational, for how small a damage buff it is -
frenzy takes 12 seconds to proc in pvp?

It was a Nostalgia play. Youd think they would let it go BRRR like in the old days, to get players. I knew it wasn't going to be good.
-
MoA has a faster activation time, other than that... Frenzy is the better option. If you have downtime between engagements, and Frenzy times out, it takes longer to become activated again. But, MoA can deactivate while shooting chunky enemies (while Frenzy stays active in the same scenario). MoA is much more of a PvP perk where Frenzy is more PvE focused IMHO. Thats my take on it.

Personally I would have gone for the same Funnelweb roll of Subsistence and Frenzy so I could use the ornaments, but unfortunately Recluse lacks the Veist trait that makes Subsistence so good, and despite the lore card stating Recluse was made by Veist. Not sure what to go for now, may try out that Repulsor Brace/Destabilizing Rounds roll mentioned or maybe with Feeding Frenzy/Surrounded to see how it does. Overall I still think I will default to Funnelweb over Recluse as it just seems much weaker than it should be.
-
Nostalgia? I mean, I use Destabilizing Rounds and Repulsor Brace because it turns my Recluse into a little pocket-sized Graviton Lance. I already had The Title with that roll but, I just like the Veist 900 a lot more. Plus, it was Shaxx's gun.

why use frenzy over stronger dmg perks
-
Not really any reason to. Frenzy is infinitely better in PVE, and as for PVP? It would make more sense to use Harmony if it were an option because SMGs back then were garbage. They either had too much recoil, too little range, or were outgunned by shotguns and fusions. Eventually alternatives were nerfed and SMGs found a good spot until they decided to make SMGs like Immortal and put Target Lock on these weapons. Now not only are they all less accurate/ stable than before, but the special reworks are forcing weapons like Recluse to be used as main weapons more if you're not running double primary (likely a sidearm, bow, or AR), which is another indirect nerf to these perks both in activation and uptime thanks to reload speeds. So it's effectively just a slightly stronger RampageX1 more than half the time in PVP and a discounted Frenzy in PVE. In PVP, it would make more sense to use Harmony or Cascade Point on something like Unending Tempest. What they need to do is buff Master of Arms like I suggested ages ago. Cap the damage at 30%, but adjust the buffs by what killed the target: Heavy = 6% Special = 10% Primary = 15%

What if you don't have a Frenzy Funnelweb?
