Not just new players, but existing players that didnt have time to get all of the red borders during the seasons... There should be ways to earn all past weapons in the game. Especially because perks and weapon balance changes, and vault space is so limited, that you can delete stuff that is bad at the time, then 2-3 seasons later it becomes a great option but you dont have it anymore...

  • That’s me right now I only said “New.” To not upset people into thinking giving away loot. But, I agree I’m in the same situation. Why aren’t more people talking about this? This is a realistic and affordable fix. Other people are complaining about implementing things that would cost millions of dollars lol

My thing is that some seasons, I have time to grind out god rolls/red borders. Some seasons, I dont. The fact that this game consists of much that is "limited time" offerings makes it a pain honestly. Destiny has always limited the time that you could receive drops of weapons to incentivize engagement, but for me it makes it has always turned me away from the game entirely. They said that they were going to remove FOMO from the game, but no, they still use it regularly and ITL is another example of it. Timegating and limiting the time to get the drops to try to increase engagement. What will increase engagement is making the activities fun and exciting to play through, not the same activity with a twist every season. I dont chase loot, I play the activities that I enjoy now. Loot incentives only go so far, and if activities arent fun in themselves, I wont play them anymore. Like battleground GM's, I havent done one, but did plenty of GM's in previous seasons. The loot isnt worth the pain of running those "strikes". They werent designed for GM content, but just ported over so that the "seasonal" content could fluff the strike numbers... I feel that all OLD weapons should be available in the kiosk for crafting. With quests and purchase for the quest being costly. This would create engagement beyond seasonal activities, and every weapon could have unique quests that take them through a lot of different content, but the player can go at their pace rather than feel rushed to do it according to seasonal timelines. Make a quest cost 250k glimmer, 500 shards, 10 prizms, maybe even a golf ball... make it expensive, and make the quest require a good amount of work to complete. (50 nightfall, with scaler for higher difficulty for example)...

  • Also more engagement would increase I agree. Imagine if they increased loot drops by just 30%. People would be on daily

  • Yeah. I’m fine with it being a slow hard grind or hard, and I understand that they can’t keep the game too big due to engine issues. But, vaulting weapons is a little bit too much. Unfortunately the one or two random red borders a week is a pain :/. I see YouTube videos sometimes about a red border someone is using that turned meta and I’m like “Darn I missed that season.”

  • People are annoyed that the ITL weapons are all re-skins... and sad that some of their old weapons that they loved didnt make the cut but they have deleted them already. I look through some of the old weapons on Light.GG or Foundry, and wish that I still had some of those rolls when thinking about a build that I want to try. But, without those weapons, the idea for the build doesnt have the final piece to the puzzle to complete the loop. Honestly, I want some of the weapons back for nostalgia, but also for unique perk combinations that are not attainable anymore on a weapon of that archetype and energy. Now with Stasis and Strand, there are 6 elements for weapons, and to synergize with a build, you are often looking just for one element. Kinetic still having 5% more PvE damage makes that more appealing than strand or stasis elelments for the top weapon slot unless using a strand or stasis build (or something that the artifact mods or activity mods balance out with).

  • I have a bunch of crafted weapons, but I never completed the crafting quest because I dont like glaives and never finished the glaive quest... I should finish it sometime to get an Ammit I guess, sometime. I added an edit to the end of the previous comment after you replied.
