Bye, see you in 2 months! Joking aside, sunsetting served a purpose. Was it a perfect fix? Nope. Was it better than just letting things go? Yes. Most Pinnacle weapons (Recluse, Mountaintop, Luna’s, 21% and Loaded Question) were so strong that nothing else could even compete. To get players to put them down, they either needed to make things even stronger (yes, power creep is a thing) or remove the problems. Would the player response be any better if Bungie just nuked Pinnacle weapons like they did to heavy GLs in Shadowkeep?

  • They could've just made the pinnacles exotics. It really is that simple.

Lunas howl and nf couldn't exist even as exotics in their original form.

  • Original form as in when they were first released? Sure. But as in where they were at the time of being sunset? I see no reason why not. I still take not forgotten into crucible from time to time and it's definitely not what it once was.

Yeah, as in original form. What they are now is fine. Probably.

  • My only issue with this is, they nerfed perks but kept weapons numerous times. Whole expansions being sunset I guess I can wrap my mind around. Regular weapons from those expansions and seasons being sunset, again I guess I can wrap my mind around. But pinnacle weapons? Quests that took some people weeks or months to complete (depending on what ones) that rewarded these weapons should not have been sunset. Same with the older “ritual weapons”. Nerfed 100%. But not made useless and unusable in modern content even if there is better. I grinded gambit to get the weapons and I don’t care for gambit. Me and a buddy spent weeks getting lunas and recluse and mountain top. I got both the claymore and broadsword from PvP and the reprised version (then they nerfed desperado only to revert it later anyway). This is one of the few times I’m very much in favor of nerfs over getting rid of. Especially when they get rid of weapons with special perks, then make new weapons with those special perks in the perk pool of other weapons. Like do that too that’s fine but also let me pull out the old gear I grinded for already as well. Rant over lol

  • This? Just lazy recycling and selling nostalgia to pull players back for me, new weapons would be more acceptable

  • New weapons, old weapons. At this point, they're just gun models. The perks and stats are more important.

  • Might as well give us an empty gun where you decide the model, the name, archetype, stats and perks by yourself
